Plane over Groom Lake

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
Flies nicely. Several films of it on YouTube doing slow flight.

Appears to be a DH8 or Twin Otter airframe with very very long extensions on it. Sub chaser?

Almost looks like an alien looking airliner or extra atmospheric rocket liner with retracting wings. :D

Burt Rutan???....or some of these??

Hey guys...

I only present the evidence. YOu provide the details, such as landing gear, etc.

The thing flies beautifully...

I hold back so many UFO YouTube stuff because you cannot except alot of this on visual. If you cant handle a turboprop 'thing' prototype, how can you handle something really exotic?

Think how long the gear would have to be in order to rotate and takeoff...

Then a B-52 is a UFO? The Buff's gear is short and it doesn't really 'rotate' but lifts off and lands in essentially a level attitude (there is a bit, but not like most a/c - and some say 'none')

Definitely a twin turbo prop....but I don't think it's based on the Twin Otter. The shape of the wings and the apparent boxy central fuselage area rings of the Shorts S360. I have no idea what all that stuff stick out front and out back are...but there is probably a conspiracy theory video about it on YouTube somewhere.

OBIO

looks like one plane carrying another, or one carrying a drop test craft (like the b29 did with the X1 etc) to me

A couple of routine possibilities. It could be a test bed that gets fitted with some instruments/electronics in that extended nose but it could also be one of the base/range security aircraft which has both Radar and IR sensor packs in the nose and underneath. Some guys I know who used to snoop around the formerly legal overlooking peaks to look at the base told me that more than once they were shadowed/orbited by choppers and twin turboprops just before the ground security patrols would show up to follow and watch them.

Actually, I thought about the B-52 when I posted, which is why I used "rotate and takeoff" instead of just "takeoff" in the post.

The B-52 also flies in a nose-down attitude because of the way it takes off in a level attitude, which this thing might do as well - it all depends on the angle of incidence of the wing, and you can't tell from the videos on youtube.

Interesting shape and small wings. Saw the videos on youtube and found another plane video claimed to be from the Groom Lake area:
