New version of the F-35 in the works (payware)

In the past few months, I've been working on a new version my payware F-35 - and I am happy to announce that it is almost ready for testing (I have therefore withdrawn the old version from SimMarket - by the way, thanks to all the customers - it has been a huge success by my standards).
The external model is (almost) completely new, based on professional meshes and optimized to fit within FSX limitations. Virtual cockpit will be (mostly) the same of the previous version and so will be the flight model.

I am strongly considering adding -B and -C versions to the package, although the first priority is the -A model. It will be payware, although the price, yet tbd, will be low (that is, my scope is not profit - but I'd like not to lose the money I spent to acquire the new meshes).

Here are some preview pictures - hope you'll like it.

Always great work from you Dino. It looks amazing. I personally would love to see a "B" variant.

Looks fantastic as always Dino. :)

I've been very vocal in my hopes for a C, so if you do one that'll be a must have as well.

Not to take this thread off topic, so its just a comment... But I hope you will continue the new F-14, even without Flight being worth a dang. Do it for FSX!

Very nice!
Can you describe what´s the differences between the early and this version (Just the mesh or something else)? And i have to ask: is there going to be some kind of discount for the people who bought the early version? (As said, just asking...)

All,

thanks for your interest and appreciation!

As for the F-14D, I am willing to complete it - sooner or later. The new version looks quite good - but now the VC is not up to par with the external model (which basically just needs animation and special effects).

Back to the F-35 it will be mostly a cosmetic update to the external model, flight model will be the same and VC will be similar (just some optimization for better efficiency) - in fact I am also thinking to reduce the VC functionality by removing the full screen map mode, which is buggy and slows the vc a little.

It is likely that a discount will be offered to previous customers - I planned to do that as it seems fair (afterall you are not getting a completely new package). It also depends on the final "scope" of the product (either only F-35A, or -A -B and -C).

I did some preliminary work on the -C and it looks good... still, being the -A the base model, I will complete that first and then decide.

Brilliant news Dino! The -A is already stunning, so personally I'm very interested in a -C model only... [paypal is ready and waiting]. Wishing you success with the F-14 update too :salute:

I'm one of those strange folks that like their aircraft to hover, so I'll put in a request for a "B", please. :jump:

Excellent work! I have the original model that you made and love it! Cannot wait to get this one as well!

Though they are not in flight training just yet, I will soon get to see the real thing on a daily basis as I live and work right by Eglin AFB! So it will be nice to fly some of the other model types as well! :icon29:

Any chance for some good g vapour effects?

Looks fantastic! Guess I'll be replacing your original with an updated model...progression, gotta love it.

Matt

F-35A Short final for the Beta

Almost ready for the Beta testing... The Beta 1 stage will be F-35A only.
Work on the F-35B is started and it's at a good point, although it is taking more time than what I expected due to some weird bug (e.g.animations are screwed up and I do not undestand why...).
F-35C will be the last of the bunch.
Current plan is to include all three variants in the package - but I also need to keep my workload at a manageable level, so probably there will not be many repaints (maybe just one scheme per variant) and there is also a limited chance that the F-35C will be a free upgrade released later on.

Good job, Dino!
The external model looks very promising, and the internal VC it seems to be more "clear" than your previous version.
Considering the high quality of the details, before the final release, i suggest you to supply also a light texture set for users that have pc's of minor performance.
Thanks, and keep on going!
:salute:

That looks very nice, Dino! I will certainly buy your new plane (I bought the first version also).<o:p></o:p>
I was wondering: is it possible to have the HUD/<st1:stockticker>HMD</st1:stockticker> symbology move with your head, like in the real plane? And will the STOVL system in the –B operate like in the real plane? So: speed controlled by a switch instead of throttle and stick, and vertical speed (not pitch) controlled by fore-aft stick movements, and left-right (not roll) controlled by left-right movements of the stick?

Great work Dino . Will the F-35B be a true hovering aircraft or more like a helicopter .
