Rise of Flight will add a Channel Map in 2012....

Ok, so I figured out a way to get it to work on my computer and I bought it, but I am having an issue. How do I get it out of the demo mode and into the full game? (I'm using the word game very loosely).

Edit: I just realized that the set up never asked for my code. Oh well, I guess the download was bad and I'll have to wait for the CD to come in the mail. Bummer. :gameoff:

Many thanks,

Walter

Setup doesn't ask for the activation...

It should be under the main menu... something like Create new account.... That's where you put the code into..

I like it a lot! I'm a terrible dogfighter at the moment. Finally shot down a plane today and landed safely! I want to buy a plane that I'll really like, something with altimeter and some sort of airspeed indicator. Have you veterans purchased those "Field Mods?" Are they any good and what do they do?

I've got another Q for the veterans: When you buy a bomber or plane with turret gun can you sit in the turret and the AI controls the plane? Will the AI actively engage in dogfights while you're in the turret or bomb sight?
I personally have only bought single seaters, though have wanted to try their bombers and two seater scout to get the answers to your questions too.

The field mods are fairly new and admittedly haven't played since before Christmas, though have kept it updated. If you buy a two or multi-position airframe, please share the pics and let me know how the Ai works while you're either playing bombardier or gunner/observer.

Well, I bought it. Don't understand why, but I'll worry about that later. I figure for $9.99 it was worth a try.

I do remember the plane and scenery released for FSX a long, long time ago. I was impressed by both, so I figure that factored into the decision.

Hi I bought the F2B because I heard it was the plane to get lol!

Maybe I'm wrong but I can't find a way into the turret position????

Anyway the AI gunner is pretty bad but maybe he's set to novice? He'll engage when I'm in range and at a decent angle to fight...

Here's some shots. The plane is much better than the SPAD I've been using in the training campaign. Faster, more maneuverable, better visibility from the cockpit, and my favorite: imperial measurements wooo! Also has bombs which is neat. Even with a full rack of bombs it seems quite agile.

That's a fairly nice bomb load.

I guess I'll take the plunge. The graphics look decent and even if I don't play it that long, at this price there's nothing to lose.

Hope ya took that plunge yesterday as it's now 39.99 at Amazon.

Yikes!

Anyway looks like I can control the turret... all explain in the new user manual, link here:

You have to enable autopilot in single player mode, or join a plane in MP...

But basically
1) Press A for autopilot
2) LeftCtrl + C to get to turret seat
3) T to take control
4) Mouse to move and I think Left Shift T will align the turret iron sights with your head maybe?

Cool shots Ryan.I'll have to get back into this sim again, just can't get enough of FSX and all the add ons right now, along with WoT...but that's another story.

Keep providing feedback about operating a multi-seater please, starting to get my attention.
