Computer Pilot Magazine has new owner

well cool.....i no longer have my subscription to computer pilot...but i wish you well in the future...ive enjoyied the mag in the past

Well done

I never buy it but flicking through it in my local news agent!

Yeah guilty of that too! Of course this is why mags go out of production, but in truth apart from the occasional article, there was never much to make me want to buy any magazine let alone CP, as they are always behind the times of what is freely available on the interweb.. And the price of mags is just ridiculous imho given that much of their pages are taken up in advertisements. I wish CP well and hope it can survive.

Best of luck on the new endevour. I was previously a subscriber but had let it lapse as I found not much of interest and too much advertising. I look forward to the revamped publication and hope I can subscribe again if I see changes that I like.

Yes,
Good luck in the new job! :salute:
I subscribed for CPM a time ago for 6 issues (One year). Recieved 2 and no more. Maybe it´s better now! :ernae:

Well said. One thing i forgot to say was that i only ever buy mags that i can look in first. Any that are wrapped i never bother with (that applies to the top shelf as well LOL) - its like thinking of buying a car without being able to see the interiour.

Out of interest what mags do you guys buy (aviation related)

At the moment i have FlyPast, Pilot and Flyer (uk one) and Airforces Monthly.

Subscribe on ipad to pc pilot, autoweek, flying.

Paper mag road and track and car and driver (letting my sub lapse after 4 years - don't like the changes to the new mag)

We are finding that indeed there were problems these past 2 or 3 years.
Although we are not to blame, we WILL set them straight this year.

We'll also make the add cheaper in Europe, offer a combination subscription for BOTH our magazines, AND will have much better prices and coverage for advertisers than our competitors.

We're also looking for writers....... so, if you're interested, let me know :wavey:

I did enjoy the mag, but stopped buying when it left the news stands, that was a bad call, hope it goes back on.

Cannot promise that yet I'm afraid. News stands and boxed software are two VERY expensive deals and almost impossible to justify from a cost perspective if one doesn't own a multi-billion dollar multinational ;-)

We will have the on-line pdf version for sale going forward of course, although being an old typographer I do prefer the glossy, nicely smelling printed mags of course :icon_lol:

My subs are:
Computer Pilot
Aviation Week and Space Technology
Sport Pilot (EAA)
Automobile
Wired

I used to buy Combat Aircraft at Borders, but with Borders gone, I should probably subscribe to it.

my currant mags are
air international
air forces monthly
military machines
flying
american trucker
hemmings collector car
MVPA magazine
one is on its way for military vehicles but right now i cant think of the name..
air classics..
motor trend
automobile
sierra heritage ( about the sierra nevada foothills area)
and there are more....between my dad and i we read alot oof magazines permonth....

Hi Jim and thanks.

No no no... we'll be a printed glossy as before :) I said we will ALSO have a pdf version for download.

As for the issues: OUR first issue is the June/July one, launched end of May. We cannot take things over any faster, and the previous owner (PC Aviator) hasn't been able to pay the printers anymore I guess.

We've just now received the databse with subscribers, lists with authors and advertisers etc. Still lots of stuff to figure out and get re-organized. We're also changing printing shop and subscription management.

Thanks for the info and glad I will still be able to hold a copy in my hands.

Hi Sundog

I too still miss Borders - the only thing to look forward to when having to go out shopping with the wife!
