New Air and CFG files for the default C208B caravan

Reddog

SOH-CM-2014
They came out a few days ago and I really like the way the a/c flys now, they work for the orginal paints that came with the sim but none of my addon repaints will work now. Any ideas??

The new cfg file probably only had the default paints in it. You will have to put back all the data for add-on paints. Too late now but making a back-up of your original cfg file would have made the task much easier.

Reddog, check the way the aircraft.cfg file is set up now. Maybe it's just a naming difference for the liveries (old as compared to the new). I know what I mean just not sure I explained that correctly. Basically look to see if there are any differences between yourlivery info from the old cfg file and the way the new one reads.:mixedsmi:

Yep, that too. . . .beat me to it Larry, lol:salute:

I'm pretty sure in this case that Bernt is referencing his airfile in the cfg instead of the default airfile, so you just need to change the "sim" line in the config to "sim=C208_ng" for your addon repaints, like he has done in the new config for the default paints.

cheers,
steve :wavey:

ok it all now works. 1st off i had saved the old cfg so I added the repaints from it to the new one changing the sim= to the new air file, it didn't work. I then changed the new air file name tothe old one redid that in all the enteries(sim=) and all is well.

Definitely want to closely check out the included readme.txt files for each one.

The one at FlightSim is for the default only.
The one at Carenado clearly is for the Carenado 208 only, as it includes an updated .cab file for the gauges as well.

Okey dokey? :salute::icon_lol:

No problem.
(Sorry if I sounded 'direct' with the previous post, folks.
I just got home after working all night, 12 hour shift.
Like a horse running back to the barn at the end of the day, I wanted to hit the hay :icon_lol: )

And thanks for the Heads up on these tweaks by Mr. Stolle! I do enjoy his work.:applause:

Thanx :)

FYI, I'm presently working on a new FSX-FDE for Miltons superb Dash 7. It's great fun working on the aircraft which I began my airline career with IRL.
