hey bill?..been wanting to ask you....have you done any updates to the Kodiak? i know i purchased the FS9 version..was it an update to FSX? or and UPgrade? seperate purchase?..do i need to buy it again for FSX?..i feel soooo confused.....

It probably depends on when ya bought the fs9 version. When I bought mine(December 2010) the fsX was also included so when I moved over, the native fsX version was ready to go.

Hello David,

Do you know if you have the Installer still? I need to know which version you have. If you have the one with the lite gray panel that is very basic, that is build 1. Build 2 came with both installers in it. Check your backup installer first. Run it, and it should have a choice of FS2004 or FSX as your directory to install to.
 
looks like that installer is on my removeable HD (backup) and...thanks to my allways helpfull,yet forgetfull mother....i have no idea where that hard drive is at this time.....according to her....."i saw some lil black box with wires on it,i didnt know what it was,so i did something with it,but i dont recall what".....

it is a small yet 500gigHD with a cord with a split end with 2 USB connectors,...as ive told all of you manytimes now...besides being fat as a mack now...im disabled..so mother dear comes out to change my bedding for me and to vacuum for me...and she also has "cleaning fits", now i do my darnedest to keep it picked up,dusted,and as clean as i can..because id rather not have "Hurricane Cathy" unleash her rath on my wittle house....when this happens...my medications go missing,computer parts are lost forever ( "whats this thing?,looks odd....imma toss it since i dont know what it is" ) OMG...my diecast collection has most of its machine gun barrels missing due to a heavy handed dust rag ,or the dreaded vacuum rather than my brush and towel...my beloved magazines get tossed in the garbage THATS RESEARCH MATIERIAL!!!!!.....hand tools go missing....she will even move my toothbrsh from where i put it to have it easy to get to for my back ( pain wise) to where "any normal person would put it here hon".........

im NOT normal ferchristsakes.........

i best stop...what was i talkin about?...oh yeah...i have the kodiak in FSX i dont have FS9 in the pc anymore...so i must have the correct version.......lord.......:isadizzy:
 
When I try and install in FSX it tells me one or more files are write protected. What files do you overwrite?

Never mind. I used the alternate install method (to a temp directory) and it looks like it was trying to overwrite the quartz.ttf font file.

Roger that Dave. Best to be careful. Doing manual installs into a temp folder are always best for the sake of not wanting to overwrite another planes files. I have to supply the common components, like SoundGauge.dll, etc, and those tend to always overwrite and thank the lord, they are all the same one.

Awesome!

I have one such HP drive, a cartridge. I cant find the powerpack for it, no longer have HP computers that it would link into (socket in front of the computer), so it sits there, collecting dust for me.


Everyone please read the manual on it. The auto pilot system is powered up at the lower toggle switches. It will boot up offline and will not fire up until that toggle is on.

Free Upgrade from the Mark I to the Mark II

By the way, if you purchased the Kodiak package when it was in its basic state, years ago, available through Flight1, and only as FS2004, you are eligible for the upgrade. Just email me your Flight1 data and I'll send you a link to the new package, which is both FS2004 and FSX and with all the tons of new updates and upgrades and things.

Does someone still have the BananaBob's excellent prop-mod for this? Or if someone knows where one could obtain it. I lost all my FSX related files a year ago in HD-crash, and I'm now desperately trying to get my addon collection complete again:salute:
 
i could just copy mine and email it to you i suppose?
or i could give it to someone here if it's cool pass it along to all, i have a bunch of them.
 
you know, i never did like flying anything that didn't have a b.b. prop spinner. that guy had awesome talent. where ever he is right now, i hope all is well. i've got his forbidden paint job for the 206 as well

He is an amazing, talented guy. He did some screenshots for me, and props and some texture sets and they were incredible. I hated to see him disappear. I hope he comes back one day.
