Heard a commotion in the backyard earlier. Our outdoor cat had found a little cottontail baby and was in the process of tearing it up. The Mrs doctored up the wounds as best as possible and will try to nurse it back to full health. Hope she pulls through.
Try using an antibiotic cream. Cats have a lot of bacteria in their mouths that will infect the wounds. We went through that when we got Jay away from that cat.
Mrs Willy says Neosporin was what she used on Jay and hydrogen peroxide to boil out the wounds. Also to wipe the peroxide off when done.
Almost every other year my my 70 pound dog Buddy has brought me some lil bunnies to raise funny thing is he never hurts them just brings them up on the deck or in the house (if you don't check his mouth before you let him in) and licks them till they are soaking wet.
Happened so often my wife finally just bought me a rabbit for my birthday.
Odd thing is since she got me Coco, Buddy hasn't brought me any more baby rabbits to raise.
Animals both weird and fun.View attachment 64602View attachment 64603View attachment 64604
Sad to hear about the bunny! I have lots of those guys running around the back yard. There's also a big, mean looking, black cat I spot occasionally prowling around out back too. I suppose I know why now...
