SR-71 Blackbird; Good Resources Locations?

Probably not what you're looking for, but... :)

"You've never been lost until you've been lost at Mach 3." Paul F. Crickmore SR-71 test pilot.

As far as I know, Crickmore is an author of sveral books on the SR-71. Not an SR-71 pilot.

Google for his books if you like as well as more websites on the SR-71.

There are the books of a real Blackbird pilot named Col. Rich Graham. Excellent IMVVHO.

i´ll might be of some help, since we are developing one, and i literally have some 100pnds worth of written material on it laying around, i might have the answer, what you need?

Since I already developed one, And am a self confessed Blackbird nut I still have tons and tons. I even have the dormitory managers plaque from Det 1 at Kadena hehe.

I need to pull out the Crickmore books so I can recall the track of the M=3.72 flight over Hanoi. Word to the wise though, don't fly it with updateable real world weather enabled. When I did and the weather would update it would send it out of control for me. I'm refering to the GH Blackbird of course. Now we just need an A-12, so I can go even faster. ;)

Ah, he beat me to it. I was going to say if you want info on the SR-71 talk to the man who made the only descent ones for Flightsim in the past decade. I imagine it probably works perfectly in Prepar3D as well but haven't checked.

Hi Sundog,

Thats probably caused by the way FS handles changes in wind speed and direction, going that fast its like hitting a wall when the windspeed changes.

One of the most interesting stories in the Crickmore's books relates to the beak to beak flights over Vietnam that had a closing speed of Mach 6 and a vertical separation of only a couple of thousand feet.

Is there anything you aren't making at Razbam? It's a common ploy of some devs to counter any query in this way to cause other devs to chuck in the towel. :mixedsmi: There is only one SR-71 for FS ( X&9 and probably P3D) and that's the one by the acknowledged SR-71 master at www.glowingheat.co.uk.

dude, it´s ok, i dont mind if someone else is doing one as well (why should I?), reason it´s taking this long for us is a matter of how accurate we want to replicate things and it takes time. You can find a post about it here in SOH, we call it project Habbu, it´s been under dev for more than a year and when it´s released it will speak for itself. And if it fails to deliver, the blame will also be on us, so no worries..
It´s not just pushing polys anymore, man, not anymore....
As for your statement..yes, currently, it´s the only one. and that´s a fact.
There is another fact..we don´t do vaporware, so when we start something, we release it, no matter how long it takes

Is it too early for me to make constructive comments regarding the model in the screenshots? From one developer to another?
