Will FSX run on high settings on this Sager NP9150???

I am going to college next year and cannot get a desktop as i have to travel alot but i want to play FSX on the highest settings possible. Will this configuration for a laptop do the job??? Help please!

1. Nvidia GeForce GTX 675M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 Video Memory

2. 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3820QM Processor ( 8MB L3 Cache, 2.70GHz)
3. 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz - 2 X 4GB
4. IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU

Nice machine... for a laptop that is damn good. Will run FSX smoothly... maybe not to the nth degree.... but it will run very nicely.

Would it make a big difference if instead of the i-7 3820QM processor that will run at 2.7 OC to 3.7 to get the I-7 Extreme edition. also 3rd gen. but runs at 2.9 and overclocks to 3.9???

Processor GHz always measure more... but for the difference in cost... and the fact that overclocking processors on a laptop won't be as efficient as a desktop... I think you do nice with what you have. Nice vid card as well.

CPU speed is king with flight simulators! One thing to keep in mind, many of those boosted CPU speeds touted by Intel are available only with the CPU running as a single core, not a multiple core CPU. FSX can and will use more than one core. Multi-core use was introduced with the SP1 update for FSX.

is there any better laptop out there for fsx besides this sager np9150??? and so the .2 ghz difference would make a big difference???

0.2 GHz difference in clock speeds may or may not make a big difference. I know with my Core2Duo and now Core2Quad, every little bit of extra clock speed resulted in a slight increase in frames per second, but more importantly, the image rendering became smoother.

You may want to look at a Digital Storm X-17 choose the "ultimate" CPU. More memory, etc.

Jim

The best CPU is also the 3rd gen. intel i7 extreme which runs at 2.9 boosts up to 3.9 which is what I can get in the Sager NP9150 as well. The difference is the Digital storm x-17 is running at a much higher price. Is there any other laptop which can beat the Sager NP9150??? Because i believe its the best but then again I may be wrong.

Thanks guys for the help so far!!!
