• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Instead, all I can say is this: SOH is on top of my bookmarks list. Has been for a couple of years. If it was to go poof, well... let's just say I'd have a lot more free time on my hands. Sorry if my words got all bent out of shape, y'all.
 
Well Bill a lot of us agreed with that post and no malice was intended; just an observation such as the older and grumpier of us make all the time when we feel standards are falling in all areas of life, even with regard to smilies.

You shouldn't have any regrets over that post, it wasn't you who took it off on the tangent it pursued. In fact, I totally agreed with everything you had to say. As someone posted in another thread, this is so ironic that a post meant as a friendly suggestion to better the website devolved into such a sophomoric yelling match.

In the words of WAR, "Why can't we be friends?" ;)

So you wasted your time too? It would've been a decent movie if it was only an 1 1/2 hours long, and they'd fix the glaring holes in the story, like:

The daughter not knowing that the mother was a dancer...even though she danced at her mother's STUDIO....


The daughter not knowing about Benjamin even though the mom dropped everything to take care of him/live with him in his later years as a child with dementia.....

Not to twist THOSE words on ya', but I don't wish any harm on any website.

I also guarantee that there's a lot more to it than the posts/threads in the last few days. It'd be selfish of us to beg him to continue if his health is deteriorating.

I think the best thing to do is to hope someone will step in to run things exactly as before. Maybe then Ickie will have the ability to enjoy this website from a casual moderator's stance.
