New P-47d-25 by Allen!

Hey gang,

Allen has released a new P-47d-25 for CFS2, based on the CFS3 stock model. It is a very good plane...good on frame rates as well, and gives another nice option to the "Razorback" P-47d model.

Great work, Allen. However, if I make one suggestion...the "US_Pilot" folder is a bit troublesome for those of us with installs "stuffed to the brim" with planes.

Because you did not "hard wire" the US_PILOT folder into the model, you might want to use Martin Wright's RAF Pilot .dp and .bgl files that can be used in the same manner you did in the .dp file.

As you can see from the third picture, I was able to do this successfully...kind of, anyway. I guess he likes the wind in his face.

As for the airfile, kudos for using the correct engine specs. IMHO it's a tad "hot," but other than that it's really close to the numbers. Well done!

Hopefully, our painters will take up the challenge to mark up our new toy!

I used the "Aircraft" based US_PILOT since it is free. You can find the US Pilot.mdl in Cfs2 Models folder. If Martin Wright's RAF Pilot is allowed to be packaged with a aircraft as long as he is give credit I will update the aircraft to use it.

The aircraft may be "hot". It is based on the CFS1 P-47D, all CFS1 aircraft are "hot" in CFS2. I did try to get thing more in line with the real world but I did not want to push it too far as I wanted it to be AI friendly. You know attack ground targets guns and bombs with out crashing.

Thanks for the sticky!

I don't think that martin would object to your adding it to the folder but in any case it is hard to believe that most people would'nt have it in their game folder already. Or you could include a link in the Read Me.

I decided that if I couldn’t include it with the aircraft/missions I did not want to use it. Nothing more pisses me off than a Read Me full of dead links.

Edit the -1.3 make it like -1.5 than save the DP but do not close it. Then check in CFS2. If it is not back enough. Switch to another aircraft and make it -1.7 and save. Switch back to the P-47 and see if it is right. This is how I fine tuned my pilot in.

Also the panels you linked to have the right gauge layout over all but the P-47D-25 did not use the K-14 "No Hand Hold" gunsight.
