Cloud and Font Resolution

Scratch

SOH-CM-2016
Is there any setting that is more important than the rest to get the maximum cloud resolution? I have REX Essentials and have it running on max settings, but the clouds don't look as defined as they once did. My vid card is also set with max settings with no difference. What I see in game is not nearly as good as some screenshots posted by folks running the same addon. I'm using a fresh install of FSX and haven't run FSX for quite some time and am sure I am missing something. Also, the gauge numbers in the cockpit seem to be not as crisp as they should be.

Fuzzy cockpit sounds as if the Global Texture slider isn't all the way right. It could have an effect on your clouds, but I can't say for sure.

Not on my FSX computer right now but I think the cloud issue is twofold. One is a setting within REX to install and use HD clouds and another in your FSX.cfg,
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=xxxx (xxxx= 1024 - 2048 - 4096 depending on the resolution of cloud texture you use). This setting will change back to 1024 automatically if you make any other slider adjustments from within FSX and you have to go back and change it manually and restart FSX.

Yup, that was the culprit. I have the setting on 4096 now and all is well. Thanks a bunch! Emile, what are HDEv2 textures?
