'USAF Veterans'

Stiz,
One the main changes was the introduction of the (long needed) "BEAST"...

These challenges include providing field security, using integrated fighting positions to protect the camp, knowing entry control procedures and performing tasks while undergoing simulated attacks

thats the bit i mean, didnt they do that anyway?? or was it a case where it only applied to the chaps doing the airport security?

.
Wow... All we got to do in 1972 was put 70 rounds through an M-16 @ 100 yards.
Had 68 in a 5" circular pattern heart-center, one in the neck & one in the chin (hickup, literally).
Was surprised doing that well with the junky rifles they had with those little short barrels.
Was an NRA marksman before enlisting. Gimme a good ole .308 now & they're all within 2".

Different world now...

Hey Stiz,
When we USAF ground-pounders deploy, we spend a couple of weeks training at an Army base to get "up-to-speed" in certain tactics.

Hopefully,
The inclusion of "BEAST" in basic training will aleviate some of the additional training that's required...
