I have just uploaded the latest version (V4.0) of my V(S)TOL addons for Tiltrotors to the SOH library.

- file rcbvca40.zip : for the Alphasim/Virtavia V22 Osprey
- file rcbvcb40.zip: for the Wilco BA609 Tiltrotor

Of course, you need to have these (payware) aircraft already installed..

Enjoy ....

Cheers,
Rob Barendregt

PS:
For betatesters: please download and re-install again.
Besides some minor changes, I named it V4.0, since V3.0 was already released last febr :)

Hi Rob,
do you plan a new VTOL for FSX helicopters too?
you have done such gauge for FS9 long time ago which i think it is not compatible with FSX?

it is up high on my wishlist

best regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Sorry, no plans.
Mainly because the flight model of helicopters (even the default one) in FSX is so much better then in FS9, my "VTOL" solution wouldn't improve it much; other then maybe a (realistic or not) "Autopilot for helicopters".
So I don't think it's worth the effort.

Regards, Rob

Rob,
Would this be a proper update for the Skycar as well, or is that a different setup altogether?

No, the Skycar works completely different.
Because in the Skycar, the engines rotation isn't manually, but automatic.
Like in a helicopter, you gain airspeed by pitching down, and as a result of it, the engines start rotating forward with increasing airspeed.

Don't think I can improve much in the V/STOL for the Skycar.

Best regards, Rob
