GAS DH60 Moth

Muchos Gracios!

Like Ade and many others, I used to fly Jim's FS9 Moths. Wonderful then . . . and I can't wait to try this new, improved version in FSX (downloading now).
Many thanks to all at GAS (and Ant) for this gift. :salute:

Well I have almost finished VH-UAE and hopefully by Sunday I will have started work on Amy Johnson's aircraft. Very little will be happening tomorrow as I will be away taking part in a Rural Fire Service exercise.

AussieMan. You're work in renowned and I look forward to your liveries. Thanks much for taking the requests on

Thank you very much for a spectacular aeroplane. Anything DeHavilland is nectar to me but this is a large step beyond...

Graham.

In search for other material on another type only to find many NZ registered DH60s , one even recent in colour dated April 1989 and was for sale few years back $300.000NZ

Cheers, Pat. I have also issued CF-AGX and am now working on the black and orange G-AANL. Which Oz ones are you doing? I don't want to duplicate your efforts! Looking forward to your VH-UAE.

regards, Peter W

Peter I have in mind Gipsy powered VH-ULJ, ULP, UPU, ULM and Cirrus powered UAU and UAO. UAO wiull also possibly be in 2 schemes. Civilian and military.

Thanks for the info Pat. Five of those were on my to do list - You've saved me a lot of time! I will concentrate my efforts mainly on British, Canadian and US examples.

cheers, Peter

Pete, by all means do some of the Aussie ones. Just leave me ULM and UAO. I will have a look for some Kiwi ones.

We can always work together with lists.

HU for two new very colourful liveries of this gorgeous bird by Peter Watkins at Flightsim ...

Thank you Peter and Pat for your work... :icon29:

Are there any military trainer liveries for this aircraft ? I like the wartime look of these old biplanes (although we loose a bit on the coloured side of things) ... :icon_lol:

Cheers,

Fleurdelys

In need of a little help.

I have come across a small problem when painting the Gipsy Moth. There appears to be a small fillet where the tail section joins the fuselage and mo matter how I try I cannot paint it the same colour as the tail fin. The same thing applied when I painted VH-UAE but this time it is more obvious because of the paint pattern on the tail fin. Here are a couple of shots.

I have circled the problem area. Any help is much appreciated.

By the way this is still a work in progress so there are some areas to be covered yet.

That part of the aircraft is mapped to the fuselage texture, if I recall correctly. I did it that way because the majority of examples studied had the metal faring painted the same as the fuselage. I'm not sure if there is a fix short of recompiling the whole model and reissuing an update. The downside in doing that would be that all previous paint schemes may have to be revised. Send me you wip so I can load it in the design program and evaluate.

I just checked it and as I suspected its mapped to the fuselage body color. I don't see an easy way to fix this short of a remap.

Will try to sent you the WIP I am working on at the moment but if it is mapped to the fuselage texture I guess it is a small something we can live with. It will be easier with aircraft that have an all over colour scheme (colours where the fuselage and tail assembly are the same colour). I have a couple of silver repaints in mind that will be fine.

Unfortunate I suspect we'll have to manage around that. Look forward to your continued work

Don't know how to attach a file to a PM so I will add them here for you Spad.

I have only included the three main files: Fuselage and both wing sets.
