Kodiak Borneo bush flying video

I'm currently doing backcountry strips in Colorado with Lionheart's magnificent Kodiak (P3D). :icon29::icon29:

Okay.

Time to retire the Fletcher.

Sure is a beautiful video. I'll bet it makes it easier to sell more Kodiaks.

One thing though...it reminds me of those GM pickup commercials where they run the big Silverado through all kinds of mud and stuff....and somehow the truck just comes out sparkling clean and shiny. They must spray Kodiaks with the same magic paint.

Very enjoyable, thanks for posting.

You've got the right choice luckydog . I love to fly Bill's excellent Kodiac . It was made for Colorado. I just started using it in a scenery package I believe I got at Ox's site called "Idaho Dirt Strips". It blends in well with ORBX's NRM region and (P3D) but should work without it .

pilottj: Loved this video . They sure picked the right area to fly in . Borneo is about as remote as you can get . Thanks for sharing .

Great video!

And a thank you for mentioning the Idaho strips Crusader....I'm bumming around Idaho in the SIM right now. This is a place I'd love to see in person.

MAF has been operating "PK-MEB" in Borneo for three years now.
Every 3 minutes, a MAF aircraft is landing or taking off somewhere on the planet...

As to Idaho strips...
Typically the Allison Ranch is missing in FSX.
Orbx did not include it either in their CRM scenery.

MAF has a training program out of Spokane, WA.
They use the Allison Ranch as the final exam for backcountry landings/takeoffs.
Seems like there are both freeware and payware versions available of this strip, if I remember right.

You drop down into the Salmon River Canyon, then make a sharp left onto a very short final.
Well, just take a look...

Speaking of tough Idaho Backcountry strips...
Orbx CRM does include "Mile Hi" and "Dewey Moore" strips.
If you can land at Allison Ranch, Mile Hi, and Dewey Moore, you can probably land anywhere. :icon_lol:
(Please, PLEASE at least take the time to watch 'Dewey Moore' and see if you can spot the strip the first time) :icon_lol:

Enjoy Folks. :salute:

That reminds me. I have a special scheme I've had planned to do on the Kodiak for quite some time now. I'll have to dig the templates out and get familiarized this winter. :mixedsmi:
