Looking for weapons, ships, and oiltanks

:isadizzy:I have decided to start a new install of CFS2_PTO.
This thing of trying to repair a botched up program is just
too much. But I want to thank all of you that have tried to help
me in this time of need.

John,
Go into the mission file and I believe it is like [Unit 18]. Change the Amrockla to "AUS_Matilda_2Flame' or some other tank listed in your mdlnames or objects_dp.

I don't know what is going on with those.

Mine keeps telling me I am missing the AF_SWPBldg01, or, JMK_Kagero.

Both are everywhere that they are supposed to be.
I have them listed in descript.dat, mdlnames, Objects_dp, in their respective foldiers.

I delete *.cdp, filelist.dat, index every single time I build a mission.

There are just lots of things none of us seem to know about CFS2. It is a quirky program from MS.
I WISH, microsoft would just go ahead and release the code on this old program and let the computer gurus here and on other simmer's web sites make it better.

And, I am not holding my breath.

By the way, guys..........

John has been invaluable to me on re-writing the Aces High Missions.

Soon, there will be an update that is perhaps "unquirky"...............

I just wanted to thank him out in the open, in public.

John,
I know it is a pain, literally sometimes........

I have found that if I get impatient and install too much scenery, too fast, without restarting the program and testing it between each, I run into problems.

If, I install too many aircraft, without checking them each and every time before installing others, I run into problems.
The same with ships.

The other things that really get me are the number of aircraft allowed. The number of ships allowed. The limitted size of descrip.dat allowed. The limited size of the mdlnames allowed.

I don't know that I have ever, in all the years I have been in CFS2ing, seen anyone actually publish the allowable size of descrip.dat and mdlnames. All I know is that it seems like there is a limit to each and problems develop from them.

I have not touched CFS2 in a number of months, yet, when I came back into it, many of my installs just seemed to have developed their own problems. The only one I can install ships or infrastructure on is the "Pristine" install of the actual, unmodded CFS2 that I do not touch with anything new. When I bring those layouts and missions over to the newer, modded cfs2, they will not work. I have broken out Cody's manual again to see where I am going wrong.

BTW, I know I said this on the other thread to everyone else, but I just want to thank you for all of your testing and work on these.
