A video blog in five parts showing the making of my 2009 Catalina review. Probably for die-hard film-making buffs only!

If you want the whole lot, including the original review, here's a playlist.

First off thank you for this......I used to make my attempts ad video work with FS9 but haven't done so with FSX yet. but I have to tell you....I just LMFAO at the comments at the begining about the tempetures being high and how you might have some smoke trailing.....lol!

Very interesting Mark. I like your presentation style. It was fun.

I'm glad some have found this interesting. I sat on this for a few years as it didn't look so good (SD camera, low light), but also because after several goes at editing it down I got fed up. (Solution to latter problem - don't bother!)

That wasn't faked, either! You can see me push a key shortly after the touch-and-go and I'm pretty sure that's me pressing H to turn off the carb heat, which I'd forgotten about. I didn't understand how the Cat's carb heat worked at the time, so it was left more or less full on.

This for me demonstrates what a herculean task it is to produce a high quality short movie. Thank you for the demonstration Mark. I am constantly amazed at the talent and commitment displayed, usually for free, by people in this hobby of ours. Between aircraft, scenery, missions, utilities and movies I am awed and humbled as I have neither the talent nor patience to do anything other than stand by on the sidelines and consume.
Lang may yer lum reek. :applause:
