'I Saw A $1 Million Dollar+ Car In Person'

This Tucker sold for a cool $2.915 million this past year with Barret-Jackson. If I'm not mistaken,...Francis Ford Coppola owns one.

The one in my shot has the distinction of having the lowest mileage of all of them with only .4 miles on the odometer :jump:
 
this tucker was first sold when new to a man in auburn cal...my dad rode in it while in high school,( he was dating the owners daughter),this photo was taken during an "All class reunion" for Placer High School,it was the 100th annaversary of the school and there were people from many many years in attendance,id have to ask my dad how many,he and mom were on the comitty that put it ll together ( yes i know i seem to talk alot about myself and my family having our fingers in alot of stuff,but weve been here since the early 40s,and before that in tahoe since the 1920s,we are proud of the area and with our family business we,as a family have allways been very community oriented,service clubs,school reunions,fire department assosiations,all kinds of groups)
anyway,,,they had a parade for the all class reunion,one hundred years,and each year was represented by a car from the years vintage,and ALL of the cars came from local collectors and owners..which i think is cool because we have some awesome cars here,,34 duesenburg,packards,30s lincolns,REO,were close to reno and many locals participate in hot august nights yearly,and the second friday night of the month in summer is a car show up town...they close what amounts to 6 or so blocks on lincoln way for wall to wall cars..well over 1000 cars at times..

back to the pic...this tucker lived most of its life in auburn,and as i said..my dad rode in it with his date to a burger joint back in the day,ive lost track of it...but it is in northern cal somewhere as far as i know..
 
Nice shots Ed....the paint job is unreal...wish they built them now like they use to back in those days.
 
I've always liked the Tuckers. Great shot's P! I think that's the first time I've seen what the interior of one looks like.

I seem to remember reading that it uses a modified helicopter engine.

I think you are correct in this thought. If I remember correctly it is a flat 6. Tuckers thought behind it was that it would be very easy to do an engine change at any service center and get you back on the road in no time. The guy was way ahead of his time. It is ashame that it ended the way that it did, and then his idea grabbed foothold in the rest of the industry anyway.
