VRS TacPack officially released (payware)

Never had a chance, John (I hope it is John and not Jon)...

.....I was too busy preparing for my newborn son when I finally got around to installing the pre-release beta...and didn't really have a chance to test it until the two days my wife was in the hospitel after having him. Found out that it didn't run for me, and uninstalled it hoping that someone would get it sorted before the official release. I just tried the official release version, and that one is a no-go as well. Maybe in between diaper changes I will have a few minutes to explain further, but....

Congrats Matt! My first little one is just over two... we've got another on the way. I can understand how these things change our priorities hehe!

Thank you, Ryan! Much appreciated! I try to make time to sim a bit here and there when I can. I would like to get the tacpack working good, but I seem to have narrowed down the problem; It doesn't play well with FSX when my Saitek panels are active. I uninstalled the drivers from Saitek and installed the SPAD drivers, and it is a bit better, but I can't run in full screen with them active. Really strange...

Wow! Thought this would get more attention. Maybe folk are waiting for more feedback like me;-)

Not that surprised, since the thing has a 500+ page wiki in order to fully grasp how to use the thing! I think people are still reading... :D

Just only for owners of Superbug. For the rest models... SDK will be in 1Q 2014, so Im stayed with CS Weapon for FSX.

Well, most of the simmers who were interested in this product have pre-ordered it.
As a consequence, we're all playing with TacPac since a few months already. So the availability of the final version doesn't really have a "wow" effect ;)

I've been enjoying this TacPack quite a lot to be honnest. I haven't used it in the past few weeks but it's just because I've been focused on other planes. The F-18 is cool but I'm more a "low and slow" pilot. Additionnaly, I think the real interesting aspect of this TacPack will appear when we'll finally get some mission editors.

Plenty of pics and a few vids out on the VRS forums. I haven't touched CS Weps Pack since testing the TP, and I only used it on helos. Accurate weapons and a working FLIR are the big items for me. The ability to add AI in game, including lethal SAMs really add the "combat" to the sim. One can launch and do both A2A and A2G, hit the tanker for some gas, then finish it off with a moving night trap on Javier's boats.

....This is what I would LIKE to be able to do...however it doesn't really like my setup for whatever reason. Arguably, I do have a LOT of addons, both software and hardware...and even some of them don't get along well as it is; So to introduce a cutting-edge addon like the TacPack I guess is wishful thinking for me until a full re-install of FSX...
