One more package with 4 new skins for the ALPHASIM F-80 - Complete Aircraft -
I had planned to make a new and better 2D panel, but now it's time to prepare for Christmas eve.

Merry Christmas!

Morton,

Every time I see these...it makes me start to think about a "what-if" campaign in Italy about a operational squadron of P-80s in Northern Italy in 1945...

Interesting idea...the U.S. War Department must have had the same idea in deploying the first operational P-80's to bases in Italy rather than forward bases in Belgium or France to counter the threat of Schwalbe interceptors and other Luftwaffe jets. Seems like it would have been easier on the higher rate of fuel consumption for jets over the distance of crossing the Alps to Germany. Due to the Italian armistice, there was nothing significant happening in the southern European skies at that time. I can understand the reticence to send the Meteors to the continent, due to the continued menace of V1's over England. I suppose it says a lot about the effectiveness of the P-51's and P-47's in holding their own against the German jets.
Maybe they wanted a "safe" area to break in the new airplane with its pilots and ground crews before forward deployments to the hot zone. BTW Morton, here's a :icon29: for a good job. Despite some older CFS2 F-80 models, the Alpha model is still my favorite, thanks in part to your collection of skins.
