QF-106 uploaded.

Awesome Fenti - many thanks!!

Much as I like the front-line/operational schemes coming out, the "fringe" schemes such as the drones hold a special place in my heart. For my part, I like the tasteful rendition of the weathering on this paint. Any chance of 90130? :costum:

Bravo!

DL

Thanks! 90130 the NASA plane - OK then, it would be a pity not to. But not before Tuesday. And after that I'm off to paint anatidae.

BTW: On my two California sixes the U.S. AIR FORCE markings aren't quite right. I am going to set this right. If anyone wants the improved files, send me an email (see readme) and I'll get back to you.

Owen,

Splendid work on the QF repaint. I'm d/ling now and will enjoy a few flights tonight.

Bones, the ones you mentioned were all former 5th FIS airframes, the rudders show their former markings left out of the red paint when they were turned into QF models.

Cheers,
Hank

Aha! Thanks! Now that you mention it, I can clearly see it. It makes sense, because the rudder tab has to be rebalanced after it gets new paint, and if you're just going to shoot it down, then why go to the trouble.

They didnt paint the rudders because the new paint would throw it out of balance. The QF-4 and the latest QF-16 are also not painted.

Uploaded.

I didn't realise the rudders weren't repainted in order to avoid having to rebalance them - thanks for the info!

Many thanks to Rob Richardson for an absolutely superb freeware add-on that performs effortlessly!!:applause: And thanks to all who have such a range of fabulous repaints. Here's my contribution - 57-72501 of the 101st Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Massachusetts ANG, based at Otis AFB MA during the 1980's. First assigned to the 95th FIS in 1959 and transferred to the 101st in July 1972, it was one of the last Darts to leave service for the Boneyard in 1988. Converted to a QF-104 it was expended against an AIM-7 in August 1996.

Will try to upload later today.

Is nobody else seeing subtle FSX logos in the front canopy transparency in DX10 mode? They aren't there in DX9, but I only fly in DX10.

Is there any workaround? (Modifying textures, etc?) Or is this an issue with the model itself?
