Just out of curiosity, who's F-104 did you use?
 
Good looking AB effect, TF. The AS model in all these screenies just looks so accurate compared with the real aircraft.

Though if you're after realism, you'll want to disable the HUD - not present on the Crusader.

Already yanked the HUD out of mine, though I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not the French birds were ever upgraded with one?
Would seem reasonable given how long the French kept them running.

Basically what I did chief is started with link below to my post and grab that F-8 and just go thru the pages here and collect everyone that had
a input on improvements such as the FDE from Warchild and the burner input that I and tufun made.

I don't know/think anyone made a collection of all the impruvements here at SOH and made installer, at lest not to my knowledge.

Edit: if you want exhaust effects like I did then you would need the freeware alphasim Avro CF-105 and make changes
to the light section of the Aircraft.cfg file thus:

It's all been an eclectic collection from some talented folks with their inputs, I would check for any tweaks and just download them and incorporate them as they happen.


I don't know about the other f-8 files at simviation as to what was done or improved upon......

Yes the French Navy used it for a (very) long time but it has always just a "gun sight" (connected to the radar)... never a HUD...
The upgrade was about navigation system (adding GPS or ILS for instance) and ECM...

A panel fix was made by John Detrick for the Rollus F8 and it has a more reaistic gun sight. Trouble is
when I incorporate his changes (per his directions) all I see is just his gauges and not the others that were not changed, just blank panels.

Edit: Found one of the gauge files that was not installed and now all is well:
Love that gun sight option (turn on/off) in the Rollus. Wish I could get same AB effect as the AS version.

I can see the tip of the injectors starting to show. They are still in the small tube area, so just need to move the AB out further... say -18 or -20 until you can see the disk.

You can see two or three large injector rings in this pic. The bright area is the small tube an the disk is just before the tube.

Ok I moved it from -17.80 all the way to -18.00 :icon_lol: It's looking good and I think this will pretty much match yours. Burners look good enough to barbeque LOL :icon_lol:
