A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - American

Description: USS Lexington I Air Group skinpack MAR/APR/MAY 42 by UncleTgt

This is a set of repaints depicting aircraft flying from USS Lexington I during the period leading up to Coral Sea. The aircraft are:

VF2 B24 guys Overhauled F4F3 Wildcat conversion
VT2 B24 guys Overhauled TBD1 Devastator
VS2 B24 guys Overhauled SBD2 Dauntless

To install, unzip the download and place your chosen texture files in the texture folder for the relevant aircraft models within the aircraft folder in your CFS2 Main Directory.

In 2009 I also made skins for Tach and O'Hare's F4F3 in 04 1942 (but not as nice as yours), just for the fun of reproducing within CFS2 a picture I got on the net.

Note that the star insigna was only painted on the left wing of the F4F3...
To do that, I got very good informations about early war USN patterns at "angelfire.com". You can see some examples in this zip

Great work UncleTgt. In case you didn't know the USS Ranger also had 1 TBF during Operation Torch.It was used for recon and spotting targets.

I left the TBF out the Torch pack because I wanted to give people skins they could use actively in missions/ campaigns. (I also left out the 3 x Army L4 Piper Cubs she carried for launching on spotting missions over the beaches!):salute:

Also the Oct '43 skinpack is a bit of a pastiche, as I find it hard to believe the TBFs would still be in '42 paint, 6 roundels & all, whilst the F4F + SBDs had all been repainted by then in 3 tone camo - but that's what the research indicates (precious few photos around though). I guess as VT4 handed in it's TBF1's soon after & picked up brand new TBF1C's for deployment on the Essex, they just didn't think it was worthwhile repainting?:isadizzy:

But I'm getting off the point. For those guys wanting a Torch TBF, I'll work up a skinpack for a Santee class CVE
