Duxford spring airshow, 26 May

looks like it will be a good one...i have a feeling our shows will be a big let down unless the warbird owners in norcal pick it up this year.....over the years alot of them stay home because the airshows dont "help" with expences

Spitfire Mk.Ia AR213 is now ready for the Duxford spring air show, which as has been discussed already, will be commemorating the American pilots that took part in the European air war. The aircraft was completely re-painted, in now much more accurate colors than before (in its previous scheme, the brown was quite a bit off), and in the famous markings of Eagle Squadron pilot William R. Dunn. Hurricane AE977, which will also be part of the 'Eagle Squadron' demonstration at the spring show, was also recently repainted into the markings of a Hurricane that was flown by American pilot Carl Davis, who served in the RAF (601 Squadron (not an Eagle Squadron)) during the Battle of Britain.

Here are some fantastic photos showing AR213 in its new paint: http://www.flickr.com/photos/64209520@N05/
