SOH-CM-2025
I need: RAF_250lb-Bomb, RAF_Pilot and RAF_Drop_Tank[. Anyone know what packages these are from and where to find them? I used to have RAF Pilot (it was an aircraft as I remember) but don't have it now and I forgot where to find it.

Thanks in advance.

ALPHA

The weapons and droptank at least are from the ALPHA weapons pack, that can be found right here at SOH. I'm unsure of the pilot - but someone must know for sure.
Finn

Thanks Finn

I found that I have the ALPHA_CFS2_WW2_weapons with the 250lb bomb in my own archive, but the drop tank was not in that pack. I searched the SOH "other" and "utilities" categories and could not find anything with the drop tank or pilot.

No Dice: I searched several categories but no pilot found... I'll keep looking.

RAF FIGURES........

IIRC Butterrodt did some RAF figures and so did MW. In addition Mario Giacomazzi did some. I remember the RAF bombs and here are the ones I found. I will look for the drop tank.

Thanks for your help Fibber. :salute: I already have the RAF Figures pack - that wasn't it. The link you gave me provided the drop tank! I also found the Alpha cfs2 ww2 weapons pack.

Shadow Wolf 07,

Sorry, life has been crazy. I was going to answer all of your e-mails tomorrow afternoon and evening. Every time I think I have time to go through them...the time bandit comes by and steals those damn minutes. :banghead:

RAMI......

...no sweat! I was locked in by the rainstorms and resting from some severe physical therapy and it gave me something to do. I just hoped I helped.

'Weapons Master File'

Hi Shadow Wolf,

In my computer I have all the files in something called 'Weapons Master File'. However, I may have made this up myself when I was first looking into CFS2.
In any case I can email them to you, or upload the file or can I pm??

Cheers,

Stuart

For Shadow Wolf...and Pedestal flyers

Shadow Wolf,

When you're feeling up to it, (I held you in prayer this morning to make sure things today go off without a hitch) I wanted you to see this about Operation Pedestal. I've taken your suggestion on the Carrier Ops to heart and made two changes...

1) All carriers start at 30 knots, but maintain a 13-knot speed for landing. If you wish to tweak the landing speed, you may do that on your own. I noticed in my test flights that the Fulmar no longer "whales out" after leaving the deck, and Wildcat takeoffs are much easier.

2) I eliminated the next-to-last waypoint that caused some warping issues you described. On missions where you intercept, the final waypoint prior to the landing waypoint will put you on a course for the deck, and I disabled warp from that point, meaning that it will be some twenty to thirty miles until landing. That should help the second problem.

3) I also fixed the Spitfire / VN Indianapolis naming issues.

I'll send them to you for a wring-through before putting them up publicly, because you and kdriver actually give me feedback!

No sweat! the real world always takes precedence. I'll catch you when I catch you. :salute: Thanks for the links, by the way. And Stuart... thanks for the offer, but got what I needed

Shadow Wolf asked this question,

The RAF_250LB_Bomb and the RAF_ Drop_Tank could not be found, though the mission loads without them. Any Idea where to find this equipment? They are not in the GC_Britwep or the spitweap packs. I looked on MW's site and couldn't find anything like them there.

The RAF 250 is found in the WWII Alphasim weapons pack.

The RAF drop dank can be found in the weapons from this download: http://www.virtavia.com/Freeware/ALPHA_Hawker_Typhoon_CFS2.zip

I hope this helps,

Andrew

Got them both. Thank you very much!

Mission 15: all went well. The only thing was a spelling error in the departing text: "...the other ships than you for..." - instead of "thank"

Mission 16: the mission starts and text pops up almost immediately, as I am trying to take off, to inform me I have failed the mission. A few seconds later, the mission ends. Then the end of mission brief tells me the mission was a success at 50%. See the attached screenshots:

Haven't flown it yet, but the title of mission 17 is: "Ensuing a safe passage." Is that "ensuing" or should it be "ensuring"?

I know from experience how valuable feedback can be. One can get around the slower 13 knot speed on carrier take off if you adjust the start point on the carrier flight deck. For those who don't know how, open the carrier's main folder and open the ship.cfg file using notepad. I used the HMS Furious42 in this case as an example. The [flight deck section] looks like:

[flight_deck_section]
width=28.4091888
length=180.1648416
takeoff_start=0,18.667476,-88.4084952
takeoff_stop=0,18.0968904,-19.3352928
landing_start=0,500,-3000
landing_touch_down=0,18.0968904,-71.4084952
landing_stop=0,18.0968904,-19.3352928

Change the takeoff_start= number to:

[flight_deck_section]
width=28.4091888
length=180.1648416
takeoff_start=0,18.667476,-110.4084952
takeoff_stop=0,18.0968904,-19.3352928
landing_start=0,500,-3000
landing_touch_down=0,18.0968904,-71.4084952
landing_stop=0,18.0968904,-19.3352928

Save and close the file, delete any CDP file that may be in the folder and you are set to fly starting much further back on the flight deck. Repeat this procedure for each of the carriers in the campaign.

SW07

PS: Mission 17 is okay except fot the same spelling error noted before: ",,,the other ships than you..."
