The thrust-scalar line is easy--that I managed to do. I have been changing entries in all kinds of xxx.cfg files for years.
All the rest, with AirEd, is not possible, no matter how I have tried.
Someone at flightsim.com forums suggested I put the air file of the Baltimore on the desk top and work from there and then save to the a/c folder.
Blood_Hawk:
I did what you suggested, no problem there. But the real trouble is my Air Ed does not save any of the changes I try to type in by expanding the tree.
One other thing that is confusing is that Rami says:
1) In the aircraft.cfg under "thrust_scalar," change it from 0.67 to 1.0
2) In the airfile, using AirEd under entry "1101 - Primary Aerodynamics," under "empty weight," change the number to 15,991 lbs.
3) In the airfile, using AirEd under entry 505 "Engine CFS/FS2000 Piston Engine," change the displacement per cylinder to 185.992857
4) In the airfile, using AirEd under entry 505 "Engine CFS/FS2000 Piston Engine," change the compression ratio to 6.9
5) In the airfile, using AirEd under entry 505 "Engine CFS/FS2000 Piston Engine," change the number of cylinders to 14
6) In the airfile, using AirEd under entry 505 "Engine CFS/FS2000 Piston Engine," change the RPM Max to 2,600
7) In the airfile, using AirEd under entry 505 "Engine CFS/FS2000 Piston Engine," change the Engine Power Sound Level to 1,700
8) In the airfile, using AirEd under entry 505 "Engine CFS/FS2000 Piston Engine," change the Manifold Pressure Max to 44.3
This will give you the correct weight and engine specs for the model. I am still working on getting the critical altitude right, the Baltimore hit max performance at about 11,000 feet.
Now what I want to know here is this: do I type the numbers as Rami says (colored blue here)or do I type without the commas in numbers like 15,991 lbs.
And do I type a number like 44.3 as it is? In other words, do I type all the decimal numbers (with the dot[.]) as Rami gives them exactly? I have assumed I do--the only logical assumption here.
If this continues and my AirEd does not save things, I will give up.
Also, I did not find the version Rami said he has given us in his post. Where is it please?
Meanwhile, I saw there is an FS2000\FS2002 Baltimore at flightsim.com that I will fly in those sims to see how it is.
Excuse me for my troubles--I have nowhere else to ask.
