Free Hudson/Lodestar Expansion Pack

Great stuff!

I have been working on a RNoAF C-60 Lodestar in the postwar scheme used during the late 40's/early 50's. As far as I can see so has the texture mapping been changed on the new Lodestar, any chance for a new paintkit?

Hi JensOLe, yes the Lodestar is a totally NEW model and the textures of the first model won't fit.
I haven't received a paintkit yet, but Simon is busy on our other project too, so maybe he hasn't had time yet. I'll ask him for it.......

Thank you Francois and Simon.

You may want to check the textures for the Mk. III Mil and Civil rear fuselage.

Luckily it seems to me that the wings, engine nacelle and tail assembly are mapped the same as on the old Lodestar.

Sorry for that folks....... will forward to Simon. Needless to say I didn't fly this particular livery much..... :kilroy:

I have one customer with problems getting the download from the shop.

Should you encounter any issues, please let me know via PM or e-mail and I'll get it fixed!

Kind regards,
Francois

Roland,

I checked it on my PC and everything looks okay. Could it be that something went wrong on your specific installation? Anybody else seeing the same anomalies?

Best regards,
Francois
Yes, same problem. Textures for the Mk3 Civil and Military on the rear of the fuselage are not right. Cannot tell if its a texture issue or a mapping issue.

Okay, I just checked again on my FSX installation and BOTH versions look absolutely fine.
That means there are TWO possibilities:

1) Something went wrong with packaging (installer) and you have a different (set of) file than I have

2) Something is wrong on your respective PC's/FSX installations causing the texture to look weird.

I run FSX Acceleration (with SP2), no DX10 demo stuff.

If option 1) is the problem then ALL customers should have the same issue, right? Lets hear it folks !

I think I may have found the problem. Apparently Simon renamed some mdl files in his latest update and now we have double mld files in the Mk3 versions 'model' folder. Am trying to reproduce the issue and then see which files need to go..... and IF that really is the issue. (I did not install that latest little patch on my FSX but moved them straight into the source folder for the installer....... mybad !)

Don't know if this helps or not, but I did fix it on my install.

Looking at the model.cfg for the Mk.III additions, they both refer to the LODESTAR Mk6 mdl files. By editing the model.cfg to point to the HUDSON Mk3 files, the textures are as expected.

Not sure if that was intended or not. Otherwise the Mk.6 mdl files are causing the problem.

Correct.

Somehow the updated Model 6 mdl files also got copied to the Mk3 version. So to address the problem one will need to delete the 4 Model 6 files from the model folders from the Mk3 Hudsons.

I will recompile the exe and upload the corrected file to the shop. After that is done (later tonight) you can either simply delete the 4 offending files, or re-install the new download.

These need to be removed from the 'model' folder of GFA LH HUDSON MK3 CIVIL :
GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 Civil.mdl
GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 Civil_Interior.mdl

These need to be removed from the 'model' folder of GFA LH HUDSON MK3 MIL :
GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 MILITARY.mdl
GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 MILITARY_Interior.mdl

Sorry for the inconvenience !

Francois

Francois:

If you are correcting textures, in the TWA version, it is Trans World Airlines, NOT Airline.

Missing an S on the end.

Got the expansion pack Ok and will install later.
