I'm not sure if I'm putting my paint question in the correct topic page.

I'm looking for a particular paint for Milton Shupe's Dash 7,but There may not be one.There is an AI Dash 7 version located in the Tongass_Fjords X scenery addon package.The paint on the AI Dash 7 is called Wrangell Air Cargo.The texture folder name is texture.wac

here u go. got this from the read me in the texture folder I have in mine.

Dash 7 Textures copyright by Joao Paz.
These textures are standard for the Dash 7. They are DXT3 with alpha channel for reflective textures. They include lightmaps for night time textures.
Optional textures are also available in 16-bit non-reflective, 8-bit non-reflective, and 32-bit extended reflective. These optional textures are available at AVSIM, Flightsim, and Simviation.
Installation instructions are available in the optional sets.

Went to all 3 sites and couldn't find it so me thinks I used the the one out of that AI package u mentioned but don't why that read me would be in it.

that WAC paint was made for us by Bjoern Erik Henriksen back in 2006 and I don't believe he uploaded it anywhere. I dug through my old emails and files and still have the original .zip but it's the same file set that we included with Tongass Fjords (both FS9 and FSX versions) so you already have that. As far as I know the AI and flyable versions use the same texture sheet setup so you should be able to add the WAC paint to your flyable Dash-7. Haven't tested that myself though...

I'll add the texture.wac paint folder to Milton's latest DASH 7 release.I know there has to be changes made to the texture text file info for the acft.cfg I know the text info can't be the same as the AI text info.I don't know what changes have to be made for the flyable one verses the AI one.

Could you add the text file info here for the flyable paint to work?.I'm trying to get the wac AI texture.wac paint to work in Milton's deHavilland Canada DHC-7 plane.I think this was his latest package out for FSX.When I select it in FSX.The plane is there,but the whole plane is black.I'm not sure if it's texture bitmaps missing or the text edit info is wrong?.

The latest Dash 7 release (from Dec/January) mapping is not compatible with any of the earlier releases including the AI version.
The entire January released model was remapped for higher resolution and because it is a totally rebuilt model.
So, there are no older textures compatible.

But, if you download this Dash 7 in the SOH library of July 2011, that texture will work.

All older paints back to the initial release in 2002 are compatible up to the July 2011 FSX port-over release here:

The recent release is not compatible with any of the older repaints.

We will be back on the final 3 models in July for possible release in September along with a paint kit for the new release.
 
Hello Milton,

thanks for the clarification regarding the model/texture changes and a big thank-you to you and your team for continuing to update the wonderful Dash-7 for FSX; it's still one of my favorite sim aircraft!
