It's about that time...Lord Stanley awaits!

Good evening gents,

For NHL fans, 'tis time to christen this Original Six matchup and play for Lord Stanley's holy chalice. Get the trophy ready!

Neither the Blackhawks or the Bruins touched their respective trophies, so both clubs come in jinx-free.

Let's get this show on the road! :ernae:

I like Bruins horn and song better, Blackhawk fans. Yours sounds like a frat party gone bad...lol

Ooooooh Rami, what in the world happened last night? The Bruins let that one get away.

Yeah...but the Bruins won't make that mistake again. I'm more concerned about Nathan Horton. If he really injured his shoulder badly and can't go, we lose a very good offensive threat. Hortie is one of the best we have.

Cheered for the Bruins since before I can remember, but when they traded for Jagr and that bum Redden, that was it, Go B-Hawks!! Besides, the Black Hawk ice crew is way more awesome looking than the Bruins crew. Jagr was one of the many Euro imports that caused the rule changes that made hockey go from being a real sport to a Euro ice spectacle. Hockey is no longer hockey. If you go into a corner without looking behind you, you deserve to become a permanent part of the boards.......

Aeronca,

Don't be shy, my friend. Tell me how you really feel...:icon_lol:

P.S. - Switching sports allegiances based on frustration is a shame. It's kind of like getting caught cheating on your wife/girlfriend or being busted in a really bad lie. You really can't be trusted again to be genuinely sincere for a long, long time.

I will NEVER root for a team that has Jagr on the roster. The current Boston GM came from Ottawa, another Euro centric team and I despise that team even though I live in Ottawa. Redden was a part of that team, hence my strong dislike for him as well. As for trust, forget it. Hockey, or any current professional team for that matter, do not deserve ANY trust. Players used to retire with their original team, no longer. Both teams and players are only loyal to $$$$ these days, screw the fans, so now screw them, lolol.

Aeronca1,

Okay then...how does Marian Hossa, another ex-Senator, fit into your anti-Eurocentric paradigm? Lest you forget, he signed a big-money contract (twelve years) and plays for the (GASP) Blackhawks?

Hossa is the same. Ex-Sen as well. That is why I'm not watching hockey on a regular basis any longer. It's simply not hockey anymore. Soccer on ice with all the acting drama now. It's not possible for both teams to lose (my first choice here, lolol) so hope the B's lose as they "were" my team and the acquisitions hurt more than the B-Hawks who I really didn't care that much about. I realize you can't go back, but how would most Americans feel if the NFL was "invaded" and most of the hitting was removed from the game? "Actors" feigning injuries then getting up and running the length of the field. "Actors" deliberately turning their backs just before being hit to draw penalties, and on and on..... That is now the NHL.

It was more than that looking back in retrospect....Hawks had very few in-close shots, blew Power Plays....
We deserved that loss....

Not being much of a hockey fan,....but only a Chicago Bears fan,....I'd still like to take on Rami a friendly symbolic food bet who's gonna win the Stanley Cup. I'll put up two or three Lou Malnati deep dish pizzas (your choice of ingredients on top of course) against Bean Town's favorite pig out food.
