Bell 47

The freeware version is a good model. I also have the flysimware payware version. I like the payware version better. For one thing it has a MASH model.

FS Northwest-are they still going? has a freware FSX native model 47, in standard utility, float, and US Army Medievac. And the pilot is not a dwarf, and it easy to repaint. I thought FS Northwest was closing down, but I do have the models and some repaints done- RCN HTL-1(natch!) and 2 AAC machines. If FS Northwest is closed,we should make an effort to host the model here. Its quite nice- I thought it looked better than the payware model.

there was an update to the Flysimware model and it has a good looking (non dwarf) pilot now as well as a few other fixes.

Thanks for the responses.

I think I remember the FSNordic one, was talked about here for a while. I like the sound of good and free.
One of the conditions I've set myself for a return to fsx is no more payware. :)

I looked at the nor cal fsx mod but was not tempted - I am trying to stick real native Sp2 stuff - but thanks for the steer.

Is there a freeware version of this avail by Northwest? If so, where is the D/L link?

EDIT:

http://www.fsnorthwest.net/index.php/nw-downloads/viewdownload/4-aircraft/20-fsx-bell-47

above link was suppose to D/L the freeware version and it doesn't.

The Flysimware model lacks a good flight model and custom sound pack, which it should have considering that it is payware. The visual model is also inaccurate. Or at least does not appropriately represent a civilian model 47. Coming from a helicopter freak, it was a let down. Sadly, the FSNorthwest model is even more inaccurate, but comes at a great price - free.

Are you saying that the one with the Mash model is free? Where can I download this free version? All I get from Google is links to web sites that are dead.

I'm trying to find the freeware version and I think the company took it down when they did the same.

Yes, the FSNorthwest model was free. I think I have a copy of it somewhere, but in my searching online, I was unable to find a download. If you still cannot find a download, let me know and I will see if I can find it on my hard drive and send it to you.

I was digging through files looking for contact information for FS NW to ask permission to U/L to the SOH library-its a model worth preserving. The FSX Spartan and Howard are already hosted here, I cannot imagine that there should be a problem with that. Over all, its a pretty sweet model-heck; even the oil cooler fan is animated. Anyway, found some screen grabs.

Nice screenies. :engel016:

I'll take you up on your offer. Thanks.

The freeware version is by Allen Richards (aka Mikrco) here on SOH. I have it on my hd, its a 36mb zip file (comes with the paint kits and gmax source file). I can send it off to a few people if needed, just pm me with your addy.
