1961 Mako Shark Corvette

There is an interesting story about the paint scheme used on the Mako Shark,it seems that Bill Mitchell wanted the paint job to match the coloring of the fish he had caught while deep-sea fishing down in Florida but the guys at the design center just couldn't pull it off... so, in the dark of night they went into Mr. Mitchell's office, stole his mounted trophy fish off the wall and had their painters re-paint Mitchell's fish to match the car instead of the other way round. It was years later that this was confessed to by the design team after Bill Mitchell retired from GM.
