Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended Released

Hello Bernt! I made this flight model (wasn't involved with the first), but we had several active Otter pilots on the Beta this time, so it should be an improvement.

Hi John, well, in that case the answer is a 100% YES without any doubt.

Too kind of you to say, I'd prefer you give a flight first before offering a stamp of approval.

Reasonably priced great looking aircraft. Watched the video the other night, and was REALLY impressed. Will have to pick her up soon! Congrats on the release.

I flew the original a great deal (for an FSE airline in Tongass), and never did like the FDE very much, although I've always had a soft spot for the Twotter and Beaver both. When I reinstalled FSX, I never reinstalled the Twotter. Just too long in the tooth with too many quirks. So, I have awaited this version for some time. Got it today, did a quick flight from Sitka to Juneau (my old stomping grounds) and I have to say I like it a great deal. Need some more time with her. Didn't do much but get familiar with the cockpit and do normal flight operations, but I really like what I see so far. So, yes, I'd say the current FDE is a big improvement over the original from what I've seen so far. And the systems modeling is very good from what I've seen. I'm quite pleased and looking forward to some real time putting her through her paces.

20% off for owners of the previous version, "Twin Otter X", and I love landing the Twotter in odd places. Guess I can't pass it up. :mixedsmi:

Awesome plane! Without a doubt worth the upgrade price. :jump:

This one's going to be really, really popular.

A fine piece of work. It has the characteristic steep rate of descent with low airspeed which allows missing all the FSX short final trees and still arrive on the landing end.

Great model, enjoying atm, there is also a 20% discount for early adopters of this first release (1 model), the rest to come in a month or two

Hello,

Can anyone who bought it tell me if it is possible to hide the yoke. I know is not a deal breaker but for me is important as I don't have any head tracking devices.

Thanks a lot,

Dan

I don't know if you can hide the yoke (haven't read the manual yet!), but there's a nifty little popup panel that lets you select a number of cockpit views with the click of a mouse, allowing you full view of all the important switches and controls (and even some nice passenger/cargo views).

I guess buying on release night was not such a good idea. I have a reasonably fast connection. I should have been able to download the 800 meg in less than 20 minutes from the US download site. I'm an hour into it and still at 44% done.

I have the old version and have always like it but I can't find the receipt and I can't find it on Aerosoft's site. That's really OK, I know this will be a better than good product.

I'll let it run overnight and see what I have tomorrow night.

Glenn

I thought I'd start with something simple:
