G1000 Fun!

My flight school just bought a C-172SP with a G1000. I have switched planes to this one, and I just had an "intro to glass panel" lesson.

After taking the flight lesson, I decided to stalk some AI in the C-172 G1000 on FSX!

I think I'm having too much fun, here!

By the way... Does anybody know of a freeware plane with a very realistic G1000 for FSX? The stock one isn't quite as realistic as I'd like. I plan on using it as a study tool.

I am envious.

But I suspect you will have to cash out for a payware version like f1 or carenado 182s. Or wait for realair or a2a to finish their 172s. But I don't know if they will have glass cockpits.

To my knowledge there is no good freeware G1000 aircraft. Flight1 T182T has a very nice G1000. I have around 60 hours in G1000 aircraft (C172, C182). This is unfortunately expensive.

Not freeware but there is also the MindStar G1000 which if im not wrong you can fit into any of the default G1000 cockpits...MindStar will also be doing new GNS-530/430 units which can replace the RXP ones now that JeanLuc has all but abandoned supporting them...

That's not how I read Ed's explanation on Avsim...

i don't think they'll integrate with current or future addons at all.

Anyway OP your best bet is Flight1 T182. No other unit is close to the realism.

No game-based system should be considered when it come to real life training, IMO.

While it carries a heavy price tag when thought of as an add on to FSX, one should consider Flight1Tech's Garmin trainer;

Install it into the default 172, add in the Real Air modified .air file (even though it was done for FS9) and that would get you a good simulation of what you have to deal with when the wheels leave the pavement.

Seems to be of somewhat reasonable price and fits also nicely to Lionheart Quest Kodiak VC.

I just want to use the G1000. Not the flight stuff. I use real planes for that! Haha

You got it into the VC? Or are you talking 2d panel?
