When I was working the road, used to visit with the law enforcement rangers down in Yellowstone once and a while during the summers.
They had to keep track of animal vs human incidents every year.
I'd ask what "the count" was.
Rarely were there any bear attacks, mostly moose and buffalo stomping the tourists.
Heh, just remembered one year near the riding tour stables near Canyon in the park.
Typical wildlife traffic jam, everyone stopped to take a picture of an animal.
Except the moose the tourists were all taking photos of, was just one of the pack mules belonging to the ride vendor.
It was happy to stand there and absorb all of the attention.
Up around Yellowknife, you need to be concerned about the Arctic Ox as I call them. There just like the Buffalo. Once in a while the Caribou can get very pissed off and startled and look out Running of the Caribou ala Canada.
