• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

....For the last several days, sometimes when I attempt to go to a differen page or thread, the little cursor thingy that's supposed to look like the little hand instead looks like the arrow. When I click on the desired page, etc., I get rerouted to another page on top of my SOH page. When I close that page, I once again have the little hand.

Everything works for one or two selections, then I get the arrow cursor again. I'm just wondering if it's at my end or what.

Sounds like some adware or possibly worse RD. Do you have Malwarebytes? If not try downloading and run a scan.
 
Thanks Roger...I have run a scan as recently as yesterday. I don't see this on other sites. BTW the page that opens has something to do with certificates and trusted sites or something. Actually, I've never let it completely open....

Anyway, I'll assume it's something to do with my internet provider and here at my end now that I've asked about it here.

I think some ad page sort of temporarily "hi-jacks" SOH... somehow... it has been done before...
I am around Palm Springs, CA and it is doubtful we would have caught the same malware in different places... and probably different providers...
I got Time-Warner... I got AVG payware with all kinds of malware guards, etc. so it probably is not my computer...

I just did a complete scan of my computer. It took nearly 5 hours but it did find a trojan. It was successfully removed. Things appear back to "normal" now. Let's hope that is reality.

Well, that didn't last long. :pop4: The damn thing respawned itself. I have just done a system restore as far back as two weeks ago. Maybe that will work as I just started seeing the problem a couple days ago.
