One of the funnest things I did in GA was be part of the Young Eagles program, sponsored by the EAA. The EAA has been an even harder champion for GA than has been AOPA.

He will be missed.

I had the honour of shaking his hand at Oshkosh in 2000. Through my involvement in the EAA in Montreal, that name in one regard or another was a regular part of my life for many years. He certainly brought the idea of homebuilt aircraft into the mainstream. A great contributor to Aviation.
