She did it!

She was persistent and her achievement is outstanding! It's not merely an endurance contest, but a case of pure guts. Those are shark infested waters, likely one of the highest concentrations of man-eating sharks in the world. Yet, she swam without a shark cage. Now, before people wonder if she was simply thrill seeking, the cage aids the swimmer by producing a slight vortex drag as the front of the cage is dragged ahead even the speed of the swimmer, so just like drag off the race car, it really aids the swimmer.

That's why she wanted to swim without the cage. She had support boats to try to deal with sharks, but if one went for a bottom-to-top run on her, nothing could have helped her. For her to do this at 64 years of age ranks among the most impressive feats of human endurance in history.

blimey thats a heck of a swim!! :medals:

and panther tonned muscles dont mean your strong/fit, we've have a couple of gym goers that have come and go in the councils parks and landscape section who've quit cos they couldn't cope with the manual labor (cattle fencing, dirt path repairs etc), kinda funny watching them getting shattered whilst the 57yr old farmer outdoes the lot of em with his gut hanging out :icon_lol:
