SkySim Mirage III / V to be FSX compatible !!!

This Mirage have been designed for FS9 from the start.

It will be a FS9 product base with no FSX options at all
but working on FSX

But I am not sure
Let wait and see !

Well, from what I understands in the forum so will it be a FULL FSX model and not only a port over from FS9. Much like the way Alphasim makes aircraft with dedicated models for both FS9 and FSX.

The Mirage is a full FSX native bells and whistles aircraft. An FS9 version will follow at a later date. I'm sure someone from Skysim more knowledgeable than myself will be in shortly to clear up any confusion.

As I mentioned in an earlier thread, the Skysim Mirage 111 is a bona-fide FSX native model, built from the ground up.

This is the reason why it is still in development and testing. Things like the unique navigation system, a fully working interception radar and the like are taking a lot more work than anticipated.

The sheer complexity of the multiple load-outs is enough to make my mind boggle too. This model will break new ground when she eventually rolls out, please be patient!

An FS9 model (based on the original concept model, seen at AS last year) will follow, albeit some time after the FSX model.

Well
thanks "calypsos" for these infos.
These are very good news indeed

the "repaint options" potential this Mirage III / 5 will be
awsome to say the least

all these colors and special schemes :isadizzy:

concerning the FSX precise format will this Mirage be
FSX Acceleration / SP2 ?

concerning the repaint kit will the graphic format be "dsd" ?

I am not sure what format the re-paint kit will come in, but another forum member here will know. I am sure he will inform us when he sees this thread.

The model currently has about 7 or 8 stunning schemes, but I am not sure if they will all come with the model at the outset. The D/L size of any model nowadays, with all the stuff you guys want, can put off potential customers who cannot handle 150-200 meg downloads in one hit. That has still to be decided.

Yes, the model is a full-on FSX SP2/Acceleration type and even on my 'low spec' for FSX (single core :censored:) system performs on a par with default aircraft......as long as I keep her 'sub-sonic':redf:

I'm really looking forward to this one! I'm maybe not as Mirage "maniac" as Frank Safranek, but it is close....

So many paints to do when it is released... I'm already doing the research for more IAF Neshers and a loads of SAAF Mirages, really only the IIIC model which is missing.

Regards
Jens-Ole

Just a note to bump this one up since release will be very soon. [insert drool smilie]

It is indeed 100% FSX from the tires up. FS9 may or may not follow. That depends on how will the FSX version is received if you know what I mean. The developer, Mark Harper, uses FSX/Acceleration so this is 100% compatible with that. I only run FSX/SP2 and we have spotted and fixed bugs for that as well.

Since the report by "calypos" further up the nav system has been modified a bit but it still very cool and functional with VOR, ILS (where appropriate), TACAN, and flight plan waypoint following (simulating the datacard INS). And includes as an option a civilian GPS unit like the Armée de l'Air strapped to the top of the cowling in their Mirage 5F and Jaguar in the early 1990s.

Included weapons/external tanks available on all nine (9) models are:
- Matra R.550 Magic (on cranked rails)
- Practice Matra Magic
- AIM-9 Sidewinder
- Phimat pod
- Matra R.530 AAM
- Nord AS-30 AGM
- AN-52 tactical nuclear "device" (for Mirage IIIE only)
- 500L, 1300L, and 1700L wing tanks
- RPK10 tank/bomb rack with 500K (Mk82) or 750K bombs

Anyone who looked at the screenshot of the Belgian should have been able to tell it was a native FSX model from the self shadowing!

Looking forward to the release!:ernae::applause:

For those of you who are fans of the Mirage III i'd suggest looking at the movie Vols Blanc, which highlights the Swiss AF versions. The cinematography is first class and it comes highly recommended. It's available at http://www.lionelcharlet.com

Hello Frank
I do not know if you are directly involved in this project but concerning
the Mirage IIIS presented above :

Swiss national roundel :
The distance of the white cross on the red disc is to close to the border
of the disc.

Swiss codes :
They are not "rounded type" typography but a typography with "squared" corners and they are black.

Vapouz, I don't represent Skysim in any official capacity so I'm sure someone will be along shortly to clarify the situation but my understanding was the depicted model was added in at the last minute as a bonus for the repainters to enjoy and as such is unsupported. Consider it a free model with a placeholder texture that repainters will no doubt adorn with a variety of accurate schemes in the coming months.
