A tedious bit of the work, this. Many thanks to Ted for his advice!

Hey Tom,

You should be very proud of her mate, she's looking incredible. And I've heard the VC is a work of art from our humble painter. really looking forward to seeing her in the flesh.

great Job, regards Rob.

This looks so good it's even got me out of semi-retirement to say how gorgeous it looks! I'm really looking forward to this one - many thanks in advance!

Those Tempests look really good and the graphics are amazing had no idea that is CFS3 :salute::salute:

They're all one model, I've used a modeller's trick to show all the different resolutions (Levels Of Detail - LODs) of the aircraft. The sim only displays one resolution at a time depending on how small the model is in your view: this helps CFS3 display a number of aircraft at once without slowing to a shuddering, stuttering crawl.

LOD10 is about 50 polygons, LOD100 has more than 14,000. If all six aircraft in the view above were full-resolution the frame rates would make a grown man weep!

The scenery is ETO with all sliders at 5, except clouds which I keep on 2.

when ARE we going to get our hands on it?? :jump:

I know, I know... if it's any help the LOD work is complete and the VC is in the paintshop. I only have the hobbit features (damage model), and .mos file to do and code up the .xdp. So it should be ready for next summer... :173go1:

Exceptional

Tom's work is truly magnificent. The SSW and Zep - the SSW is all but released. Need to make one more LOD I think and out she goes. Other than the damage model as good as any OFF payware. OFF uses a special damagebox set up that is quite interesting and I used this system for the SSW. I want to tweak the FM a little more. It is fun to fly....and if I do say so looks pretty darn good (Thanks John!!!). Just need a good radial engine sound...

Was hoping to get some pit shots, as good as any we've got. I hope it fits the stock Tempest too, would love to be rid of another stock pit.
