Spanish A/C

westview

SOH-CM-2023
I recently reinstalled my copy of CFS3 and related theaters, and I thought I remembered having a Spanish Nationalist Sm.79, BR.20 and G.50 but I can't seem to find them any more. Does anybody remember where they are, or was I just dreaming?

You will find them in the ETO game, there are Spanish Republicans and Spanish Nationalist A/Cs also some Spanish vehicles can be found.

Yeah, there's the SM-81 and the Ju-52's available at reg's and in ETO but I was referring to an SM-79 and a Br-20 I thought I saw at Italian Wings some time back, but I might have been mistaken.

Hi guys,

ETO 1.4 has the BR20 in nationalist colours. Sm79 I can't remember if we did that for
ETO. Ill check and get back.

edit after checking the ETO 1.4 also has the SM79 in Nationalist colours

regards Rob.

IIRC it was Isolattifugatti or another Italian site that originally had a good set of italian planes for CFS3. But then I think the AvHistory site made quite a number of them into 1% v2 series planes. Does the collection of Avhistory version 2 planes here at SOH have the SM79? ....checks...:running:
Nope! Blast, there goes the easy answer... Maybe its part of the Spanish Civil War package at Reg's hangar, per adjacent thread?

Plenty of us will have SM79s buried on our hard drives anyway should you need them.

here is a BR20 http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=86&id=15723
and here is an SM79 http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=86&id=15920

both originally from isolattifugatti but uploaded here at SOH!

Hi All,

as mentioned above, (but mentioned here again in case my edit of original post got overlooked.) the Br20 and the Sm79 are both included in ETO 1.4 with Spanish civil war markings for the Nationalists.

the Br20 is the MAW model rather than the one from isolattifugatti.

ETO also has the I-16, G-50, Cr32, Ge-23 and Ro37 in Spanish Civil war colours.

regards Rob.

Thanks Capt.

Do you happen to know the file names of the G.50, Sm.79 and Br.20? I found the other in my aircraft folder but I couldn't find these three when I downloaded 1.40 and the hotfix. I was going to put them in my copy of MAW as well as ETO which is why I'm asking. Thanks!

Hi westview,

file names:
ETO_Sm79_SCW
ETO_Fiat_G50
SCW_Fiat_BR20M

In MAW the planes may show up under the British, USA or German country list as neither of the Spanish country names used in the ETO nationality set are included with MAW.

regards Rob.

I re-downloaded ETO 1.4 and the hotfix and searched the new install for the three files and still couldn't find them, sadly.

Hi Westview,

It maybe that they are part of a future update, (I get confused sometimes as to whats in my game folder versus whats been released) momentum has slowed somewhat with ETO updates.

Over the next couple of days I'll get all the weapons and pylons associated with the SCW planes in question and upload a small aircraft pack here at SOH.

I've also been looking at what I have for Rising Sun as well for extra aircraft, there quite a few now. might be worth another small hot fix patch for RS as well.

regards Rob.

Pat Pattle started on a CFS2 conversion for the SB-2 bomber for the Spanish republican side in June, but I don't know the current status.

I saw the SB-2 he was working on a while ago. Looks like jolly good stuff, I'm excited for it. There's a lot of potential with the Spanish theater and I'd even say most of the aircraft used during that war are already available in CFS3.

I have the SB2 Bomber, was given permission to get it sorted out, and build a missions package for the release.
It is on the list, doing several packages right now and don't have the time to work on this project.

I can only do 8 projects at once it seems so this will have to wait a bit, before I get to Her..
And after my mess up with the Hampden project, might have to cut the projects active list to 5 or so, at a time.. ..

I got bored with it so it's now in Owens capable furry hands to sort out. It's not that far from being releas-able just needing a few tweaks to the files and maybe a couple of minor naming edits in the gmax.
Perhaps someone with a bit of spare time and inclination could take it on? Poor old Owen get's it all dumped on him!
