Akemi's aircraft production salvage

Wow!....

.......:jawdrop:

This was fast! It leaves me with.....nothing to upload for the cause!

Anyway, this immediate response is simply great. I only wonder why the link to his website yesterday did not work here, even after several attempts. I jumped to the conclusion Hagochu's Aircraft Factory went off line. Given the results of this in just one day, I am glad I signalled something wrong, at least we ensured preservation.

Rami, I'd suggest to go an extra step, if possible.

Instead of having Akemi's production mixed with the rest of the library files, filed by aircraft nationality, I would create a specific page here titled something like "Akemi Mizoguchi Tribute" or "A tribute to Akemi Mizoguchi", and have all of his works grouped there and listed in SOH's Warbirds Library, CFS2 Section, as such.

Something easily identifiable and available with just a click in the Library index, without having to do a search with keywords.

Cheers!

I agree Kelti, Akemi's Hanger. Something along that line. We have one for the VB planes.

Blood_Hawk23,

That's easier said than done. It would take me a few days to get all that sorted. We didn't even do that for isoliti4gatti when the site went tits up, or the Netwings stuff.

Hello-

First, I'd like to extend my thanks to all involved for the efforts made to conserve Akemi's work... It would have been a great shame to lose that collection!

But, speaking of salvage, has anyone inquired about that work in process on his home page, and also in his WIP page- what appears to be a J6K1 Jinpu that seems not all that far from finished? Wouldn't it be nice if some talented individual(s) were able to put the finishing touches on it so that everyone could enjoy his last creation?

I think that one will be lost to time. Even if his daugther still had his computer and all of the files were there, she probly wouldn't know what to look for. Myself, I wouldn't even ask, just out of respect. Though it would have been nice.

Rami,
It was just a thought. He had alot of models and that number alone would justify the need. I do get what you mean. Thank you for whats been done. Anything else would be "Icing on the cake".

BW........

...IIRC wasn't there someone here who was friends with Akemi, and if I read it right, was also from his home country. Is it possible the family might know him and allow him to take the files? Just a thought.

ADDENDUM: Found it is ignacci who originally posted the sad news in the "R.I.P Akemi" forum post.
Maybe present the possibilty for him to explore that in the proper custom of his country.

I agree 100% with Blood_Hawk23, when he says "Myself, I wouldn't even ask, just out of respect."

Akemi just left us, all of his family is in deep mourning, particularly his daughter. All of us who lost one or both parents know very well what it means.
Stepping forward and ask to get into Akemi's computer to retrieve his last work sounds just a tad too much to me. :concern:

What I would do instead, would be sending written condolences directly to Akemi's family on behalf of the entire SOH community, letting his daughter know about our initiative to preserve his works of art. Then it would be up to her offering whatever is left of his masterpieces or not.

As to me, I am quite content that Akemi's hangars were rebuilt here.

RAMI:

What I had in mind was exactly what Blood_Hawk mentioned, a specific folder as for VB Planes and the 1% Aircraft collections. If it means too much hassle, I didn't certainly mean it should be done right away, do it at your convenience.
I feel it would be rather nice for anyone opening the Library, scrolling down and seeing, for example, "CFS2 Aircraft - Japanese - Akemi Mizoguchi Tribute". The icing on the cake, just as a homage to Akemi's memory, his kindness and generosity.
If it can't be done, well, 99% of the project is done already, then leave it at that.

Cheers!

Kelti........

I wholely agree. That is why I had addded the ending sentence of "Maybe present the possibilty for him to explore that in the proper custom of his country." Accent on "MAYBE" The only thing that has to be done in the immediate time frame is the expression, to the family, of the SOH communities sincerest condolences and our appreciation of his great work.

I would eliminate the term Japanese, as Akemi built more than just Japanese aircraft. I would leave it at just Akemi Mizoguchi's hanger and put all of them in there in similar fashion to what he had on his own site.

My penny's worth of thought.

DD.......

..WHOLLY agree with you on that. In fact, he had did some effects for the a\c that maybe should be included there-in.

Yeah, DD! :encouragement:

I wasn't thinking straight, thank you for correcting me! :173go1:

Akemi's production included German and Allied beautiful models. His FW190's are still the best freeware around, much more so after Captain Kurt & C's updates, while his Spitfire MkVB is my favourite mount for the mid-war ETO operations.

"Akemi Mizoguchi's Hangar", then!

Cheers!

Thank you Kelti.

Then you will be happy to know that there is much more Daedalus Team magic coming soon for the Akemi Fw190s as our tribute to his good works for all our benefit. All of my individual Fw190A upgrades will be retired once the Daedalus versions are posted.

Great news!

Thanks for the news, Capt. Kurt! :encouragement:

I guess I'll have to start working on updated blurred prop textures for Akemi's "Butcher Birds" then.......

RAMI:

"CFS2 Aircraft - AKEMI LEGACY".....well done, sir. Great title for it, thank you!

Cheers!

Hi everybody.

As expected, Akemi's website is definitely gone from the Net. Clicking on any of the links tied to Akemi's planes takes only to the Japanese Infoseek portal home page.

I am proposing to start a re-upload drive here at SOH of all of Akemi's works of art for preservation purposes. I think that among all of us his splendid collection, old and new, could be preserved here.

Naturally, this is a task our good Rami should investigate in order to find the proper way to accomplish it.

I feel this would be the best way to pay homage and deep respect in the years to come to the memory of Akemi Mizoguchi, for only preserving his masterpieces that we will be able to prolong his presence among us. The only thing that survives us is the memory of our deeds.

KH

I save all the aircrafts if you need them...

Cheers

Pepe

Very well done Rams and guys.

A fitting tribute to one of our own.

I maintain his full set on my external storage drive along with most of our other SOH library entries just in case we need them.

Macro to fix this ?

Re: Below, I tried to find a macro program to fix this in multiple Theatres, but no go. anybody else have a solution. Has to read the *.dp file in each A/C and find Break,6, replace with Break,, and close, for ETO, MTO, PTO etc. I am not a programmer! Found the error in practically all A/C. %^&*() Even tried an on line editor, in demo mode but would not cooperate.

the spinning dupliacte is an easy fix. its in the DP

in the effect section look for some thing like this

[EFFECTS.0]
; System = Nose Structure
effect.0=10,LIBRARY,fx_smkpuff_s,
effect.1=30,LIBRARY,fx_engfire_s,
effect.2=60,LIBRARY,fx_engfire_m,
effect.3=95,LIBRARY,fx_airexpl_l,
effect.4=100,BREAK,6,

delete the red number, what ever it might be, so it looks like this

[EFFECTS.0]
; System = Nose Structure
effect.0=10,LIBRARY,fx_smkpuff_s,
effect.1=30,LIBRARY,fx_engfire_s,
effect.2=60,LIBRARY,fx_engfire_m,
effect.3=95,LIBRARY,fx_airexpl_l,
effect.4=100,BREAK,,

do that for all of the effects and you won't have the duplicate plane.

As for the prop i have no clue.

LOL we did it at the same time Fibber...
