Finally, after a week of tinkering after it arrived, I've finally got a rig that will handle FSX seamlessly and Photoshop with 4096x4096 textures without taking all day to load and save. So my first project has been the SSW F-84F, 52-6675, an F-84F-45-RE, assigned to the 78th TFS (the Bushmasters), 81st. TFW at RAF Woodbridge around 1958. I've attributed the aircraft to Lt. Col. Charles Simpson who commanded the unit during the transition to the F-101A/C Voodoo in 1959. T/Sgt. James P. Morgan was one of 9 T/Sgts serving with the &8th at that time (http://78th-bushmasters.org.uk/). A few bits and checks to do then I'll publish. I've given it my own interpretation of natural metal finish and tried to give it a used feel. Hope you like!

Looks beautiful Dave.

I'm just finishing up my own new FSX/P3D rig (after struggling with a 10-year patched up old one for far too long) so will be getting this gem of an aircraft. Hope your textures are out soon. Wednesday is my birthday. Just sayin...

That was my father's outfit.......Col. Simpson was our next door neighbor and his son was my best bud (later commanded the Thunderbirds). We were stationed at Shepherd's Grove and Bentwaters/Woodbridge......... When they phased out the 84s, Dad moved to the B-47.

That looks good Dave. Nice work.

Happy birthday Frank ( A little early, but just the same...)

Luckydog, this is what really makes repainting so worthwhile; to find and be in contact with someone out there who has a personal connection to the aircraft, people and unit. It truly is wonderful. Now uploaded here and at Flightsim.com and I hope it does justice to your father and the 78th.
