• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

:help: MAW/ETO/Solomon/Korea/OFF2 :applause: Yep, there all depending on CFS3 and I'm flying them. Can I still use them after deleting OFF2 and installing OFF3. Or do I take extra actions to avoid problems.

It is my understanding that OFFBHAH does nothing to alter your other installs.If you wish to take steps to further protect them why not rename the directories in which they reside.Then reinstall CFS3 as a vanilla. Then install OFF. Then go back and rename you other directories to their original names

You will need a vanilla version of CFS for the installation process to run properly.

Huh...and here i was with the impression that for P3 i don´t need to have CFS3 installed at all.:isadizzy:
 
Badkarma You must go the the over flanders field website for more information about CFS3, its the only source for this.
 
I still do not know if OFF3 will interfere with my CFS3-WW2 games, but I did right now the order for OFF3, I as a fan of combat flysims I could not resist. I wil see for any CFS-WW2 conflicts. Maybe somebody from CFS3 can reply.:help:

You need to own CSF3 but it doesn't have to be installed.

Apparently, if the OFF3 installer does not find a copy of CSF3 on your computer then it will ask you to insert the CSF3 discs or DVD and it will get the needed files and install from there.

I'm sorry, but this is not what i was told By Winder. I asked this question some while back and i was told that P3 would install on my modified install of CFS3.

I have CFS3 running sweet with excellent mods on it. I asked two things

1. could P3 be installed on top of OFF2. It cooould, but it was recommended to uninstall OFF2 first.
2. I explained about the modded CFS3 and was told that P3 could be installed on it. That explanation meant to me that P3 was only interested in some of the basic files of CFS3 , which the mods would not have interfered with.

Perhaps WINDER could make a definitive statement here, otherwise a lot of folks are going to get confused by chaps giving out misinformation unwittingly.
I.E. Either Scout or myself is doing that in this thread :)


P.S I don't think the FAQs cover this point - may be wrong, but I don't remember seeing it.
 
I personally have two instances of CFS3 in my machine. One modded, which I named "Modded CFS3", and one vanilla for OFF, ETO, etc. No conflicts whatsoever.

Fortiesboy, you may be correct. I had a look at the FAQ and it appears that a fresh install of CS3 may only be needed as a last resort when having problems. Me personally, I always install over a clean CSF3 just to play it safe.

From the FAQ

If you are having problems getting OFF working here are some things to be aware of:
....

4) Create a clean CFS3 install to work from : Other errors are most likely due to problems copying from your "standard" heavily modified CFS3.

Scout S! - Reading that No. 4, it seems safest to have a clean install, but that may make it difficult for some folks.
They may have to follow Nio's recommendation on this.
Personally, I'm going to be fortunate enough to have a new computer coinciding with P3.
 
As per the FAQ it should be OK, but if you have problems then clean install is the only 100% safe way. No way we can troubleshoot something with loads of changed unknown files.

If you have P2, BHaH will remove it for you.

It won't change other installs of CFS3/Mods etc.
 
The CFS3 is clean and I have the origional CFS3 CD. (Yep buying this specially for OFF2, allways had the opinon that CFS3 is inferieur To IL) Had, now I'm more to the CFS3, thankyou MAW/ETO/Korea/Solomons guys. :kiss:
I will wait for the BHaH arrival, keeping a close look to this forum for any install troubles.:wiggle:
Do a backup for MAW/ETO/Korea/Solomons before installing BHaH. :amen:
