Revisiting the Cloud 9 Phantom porting issue..

Just installed Beta v5 of the Portoverkit...and all works great!

All my repaints are based on the great paintkits by Vincent van Yperen and Dag Roger Stangeland, who back in 2008 graciously gave me access to their treasured paintkits.
My partner back then...Torsten "Thunderbolt" B. should have some on here as well...
 
Naval Operations Report

Finally got around to doing some carrier work with the Cloud9 F-4. My first attempt to trap on the SDB CVN-65 was fatal (LOL) - too steep an approach and should have been waved off. Second attempt - I do traps with full crash detection on - was good. Compared with the AS Phantom - which I find comparatively easier to trap than e.g. the F8, RA5C and A-3 (a real handful) the Cloud9 aircraft is more challenging, and therefore probably more realistic. Get some yaw action just before the round down. I am going to enjoy the Phantom on and off carriers much more now. Will add the RFN TACAN and also the radar that shows moving AI carriers and other ships (ars4.zip at avsim) and make a second navalised panel.

One note, on the cat it seems to lift the plane off the deck and skyward way before the end of the cat run, which is a bit unusual. Had a full load of fuel too. Maybe something to adjust in the [launch] settings?

Doublecool - that radar scope looks great - what files are you using?

TuFun - your video demo-ing the AB. How do you film with the camera set on ground while flying the flyby? I am so impressed at the SOUND on those passes - just like an airshow I remember at Andrews AFB or Biggin Hill - the sound fades and drops to a low rumble as you watch the plane get farther away (and the two glowing dots of the AB get smaller). It is a tremendously realistic effect to watch and listen. Whose J79 files are you using in that video?

Widescreen cockpit panel is 'getting there' ... rigged up some radar screens .... got a sight 'selection' in the hud...
Need to get more warning lights happening....and the mirrors....;)

Sorry guys for my stupid question: I´ve installed the C9 F-4 in FS2004, after transferring the files to FSX the programm crashes during loading a C9 F-4 as aircraft. Any ideas? Thank you!

Think I found it Bully707, much appreciated. Installing and loading her up now. It was a little further down the page with a correction.
 
2D Panel's almost done...now with mirrors and stick...even the panel shield overlap of the G-Meter. Gonna rig up an annunciator for it...that'll take a bit... and other warning lights...gear lever.....it never ends...;)
