DMFS Layered Kits

I'm sure this has already been asked, but I'm not finding an answer by searching here or at CBFS. I'm wondering if there have ever been any layered kits released for David Malby's planes, especially the VC10.

I'm just looking to do one for myself. Most of the planes I fly are painted plain white with the registration N690TC (which actually belongs to a 690 Turbo Commander). Commercial models also have "Operated by Clayton Air" somewhere near main entrance. Although with vintage birds such as the VC10 or my L1011's painted in Eastern colors, I can make the excuse that they're museum birds.

I had the same question so a couple of years ago so I emailed David directly, and he gathered together what existed of the VC10 templates and sent them to me. PM me and I will forward them to you. I've done a few what-if schemes; one of these days I really should upload them.

overall Hemp with Light Grey underside, 101Sqn crest on the tail... ZA140 to ZA144 did end up wearing some intriguing nose art during GW1....

Jeez, this batch of K2s is a pain to repaint. Every one seems to have a different pax window configuration. In any event, here is a preview of ZA141:

It's at about 200% scale. The textures are 512x512, which means each of the fuselage halves is 256px high. So no high-res textures, unfortunately.

You should be able to "up-scale" the texture to be able to add definition. I have the default C182RG from FS2002 Pro installed in my FS9 setup - mostly for reference. The single exterior texture sheet is 512x512. I just opened mine with DXTbmp, exported it to Paint, enlarged it to 1024x1024, and re-saved it. The pic attached is the result of that 90 seconds of work:

Had to be me who asks for the difficult repaint haha.
