I have the JF as well. The Aerosoft version is clearly a step up and well worth adding to the collection if you like cold war jets. Low sun angle really brings out the polish and detail.

New Texture (WIP)

Hi Guys,
Recently I put some shots up of a new dark green texture for the Lightning, I decided to send it the scrap yard, but out of the bad came the good and have come up with this one. Now I have kept with the a nice clean coating, as I found with the painted one I was loosing a lot of the nice texture add ons on the outside. I am playing with the spec channels at the moment but I'm happy in the is result. What do you think then ?

Great screenshots everyone thats put some up.
I have now installed it and am interested in knowing which version has the most accurate outside sound set.
I saw a lightning at an airshow as a child but I can't remember how it sounded other than it was very noisy.
The JF one sounds more howly at the front and generally seems to fill my speakers better in surround sound.
 
Cool stuff, although I'll be the first to admit I was trying to hit SHIFT+Enter to bring my viewpoint up :highly_amused:

nice to inform You than I finished skin for EE Lightning F.3. Its a RAF "Lightning Trening Flight" skin, 1983-1984, RAF Brinbook. In this period this XR720 had an Agressor marks. I did the new camo, markings, spec files and new weathering effects.
I hope You like it. I will put zip file on Flightsim/Avsim.

On a slightly related topic, is there a decent RAF Binbrook for FSX?

I'm afraid that I have no idea of how well ORBX works with other add-ons, as I don't have it.
Having said that, I could say that the Team SDB offerings are very far from prohibitively expensive - so it might be worth finding out.
