Examples of sim setups?

NC,

It looks like the box is just high enough for the Saitek panel to fit, but not too high, so that the main monitor is still at a comfortable level.

Noice find.

I am lloking around for a Goflight MCP, but the price of $525 is kinda steep. Looking to find a second hand one for a reasonable price.

For now, what i have will do :emmersed:

My biggest nugget of advise, if you have rudder peddles make sure your office chair don't have wheels, lol. Either that or invest in office chair wheel chocks.

A trip to the wreckers and some construction, all for 20 bucks takes care of that issue.

Today, my goal is to FINALLY get my TrackIR configured. In all the years I have owned it, I have never configured it. There are numerous youtube videos about how to do this, and I plan to take my time and watch them. It should be worth it in the end. Along with EZDOK, this will be awesome! NC

Double J,

I love the look of your current status. :applause:

Upload another pic with the screens up and running.

Keep up the good work. I know how much fun this is :redfire:

NC,

I don't have the TrackIR, and have been "eye-balling" EzDok for a while now.

I thought I read somewhere that the developer of EzDok has left the scene, so support is no longer available (yes, I know there are set up video's on youtube, lol) That's what's keeping me from buying it now.

Let me know how the combination is working out for you.

evvatc,

I read your thread. Looking really nice. you can really emerge yourself in that cockpit. Are there any pics of your cockpit after Feb./2014?

manfredc3,
Unfortunately I haven't had time to work on the pit much since then. With 3 boys all playing sports in the summer it's hard to find the time. With fall and winter approaching I will be able to focus on the pit again. One thing that I have come to terms with is that I don't know if it will every be completely finished. It will be functional but I'm sure there will always be the next thing to add or improve.

One of the EZDOK (EZCA) videos is called "EZCA, The Other Stuff". It is most informative and I will be watching it repeatedly, as it is quite good. Both TrackIR and EZCA have a lot of options to adjust various settings. I am taking my time, learning what everything does. Pete

In the past, I have built two of those Akers-Barnes cockpits. Fun to build, but as I get older, it isn't so easy to climb in and out of them!!

So now, my cockpit is a desk! NC

Here's mine, which 'otter' be finished soon :distant:

Re: Twin Otter home cockpit

Nice Twin Otter home cockpit indeed! I'm glad to see you're making flight sim videos again. Your review of the FSX Aerosoft Catalina was one of the inspirations for me to try out FS2004/FSX. I have been enjoying those sims ever since (Jan of this year).

Thanks. I am hoping to do some traditional FSX videos again at some point, but obviously lots of Twin Otter videos too :) It is nice to provide inspiration for someone else. I was inspired by a long line of people, probably originally by Charles Gulick's systematic way of flying the (almost unbelievably basic) simulator. More recently, it was David Rogers with his OZx vids in the Realair Scout, then Orbx and the Golden Age Simulations planes.

Mark I enjoyed your odyssey on YT during the making of your cockpit immensely. I would not have the patience or compliant other half to even attempt such a project. It annoys her enough that I have what I have (see p1 of this thread) in the basement. :encouragement:
