The Mistels are coming! Me109 Ju88 Mistel 1

Shessi

SOH-CM-2025
Hi Folks,

Just uploaded a Mistel 1 for both CFS2 and Fs9.

Obviously with this ac version you cannot drop the Mistel bomb, but fear not! I've made a Mistel 1 bomb weapons bgl, so we now have a Mistel to drop on targets as well.

Had to re-build the KM Ju88 for this, as the source file had been lost many years ago by Kris Mainowski in a HDD crash. Also tweaked the cowling and other bits of the SU 109.

Cheers

I also have installed the Mistel and the Mistel weapons pack.

But cannot drop the bombload...is there something else you have to do?

super

Hi Elsner and Super,
I think you are getting things mixed up here.

The flyable Me109 and Ju88 Mistel 1 does not separate or drop the Ju88 as a bomb load.

The Mistel 1 weapon is like any other bomb, you have to add it in the DP as a bomb load to an aircraft. I used Paul Rebuffat's Bf109F4, which was the typical aircraft used for this combination, although Bf109F2's, G2's and Fw190A's were also used. You can then fly to the target and drop the Mistel Ju88 as a 'bomb'.

Attached is the DP for Paul's Bf109F4, if you download it here at the SOH and use this DP, you'll be up and away in no time.

Cheers

Hi Shessi...I installed Paul's Bf109F4 and used your DP file....but when I choose the Bf109F4 it sits on runway but the weapon is buried in the runway below the plane...I can get it to take off and it does drop the weapon...is this suppose to be this way or did I do some thing wrong?

super

Hi Super,
Grasshopper....the path is long and there is much to learn......;)

Yes, the Ju88 Mistel is a 'bomb', and in CFS2 bombs and other attached or carried items are not solid, so the Bf109 is the only solid object and therefore sits on the ground. There are only two choices, either have it this way or make the contact points of the Bf109 very high, but after dropping the Ju88 it would land and be some 20ft above the runway.

Have fun!

Cheers

Hi Shessi...I understand....yes I have a lot to learn..so...flying a mission it would be better to have an airstart...

super

Well, yes if you want the mission to look good from the start or if you start from an airfield, then it is only a very short while before take-off that it looks odd, the choice is yours...

Another work of art!

Shessi,

where the heck did you find a Ju88 fuselage with the cockpit replaced by a shaped charge, exactly how Mistel payloads were in the last days of war?

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!

Thank you!
