Has anybody done a repaint of the virtavia A-4E/F in the colors of the VA-113 stingers? These guys had some famous A-7 colors but also flew the A-4 in the mid 60's. Was a great 1/72 Hasegawa kit once.

Check post #21 here.

Steve (Duckie) said he's got one underway. Hopefully a VA-212 in there too ... check that thread for his repaint updates.

Didnt see VA-113 Stingers in that thread unless Im blind. I have silly reason for asking this... I did a pilots helmet repaint that turned out rather well for that squadron, and thought this repaint had already been done. Was looking to stick it in there. if somebody has done this repaint but not released yet, will be happy to share. I'll send it over to Steve to see if he wants it.

Last part of post #21 in the aforementioned thread - he mentions he's got one in the works. So it's not been done yet, I believe.

I love the helmet, and would hope he'd also enjoy it.

Yes, started one just after the A-4 was released based on that same model kit I built when I was a kid. Finished VA-56 for the SDB Enterprise and was 90% on VA-113 but got hung up on the metallic blue for the fin tip so put it to the side. From messaging Duckie he's doing the same nose number. I'll probably pick another number then.

Hey, Frank, not hung up on nose numbers. I have a list of tail numbers with the assigned nose numbers for their Fox Trots. So please go ahead with 307. I'd love to see/have a copy of your textures when their released.:encouragement::encouragement:

No worries. I did some research and am doing NG301. I've got all the info I need. The aircraft is finished, just messing with the helmet now. Trying to get the bug to sit right.

Thanks Frank. Looking for to a little formation flying! :encouragement:
Have uploaded the squadron mate.

The particular aircraft was flown by Lt Ernest Christensen who was forced to eject 70 miles offshore on June 23, 1968 due to an engine flame out following a combat mission.
